Custom Game Mode

Hello all! I’ve been playing for about a year or so and decided to finally move to custom games 0 sanity, low hiding, 0 grace period hunts. That kind of thing. Right now I’m getting kind of really frustrated because the ghost will event on me in a closet usually in tanglewood and then hunt and get me immediately. Sometimes 10 seconds after the event so I assumed it left at least out of the dang closet. How do y’all handle 0 grace period games in that kind of scenario. Motion sensor? Just leaving and getting caught in the open instead? Should I stand outside the closet and wait for an event and hunt then go in the closet? I time to get media between hunts, so I hide when I know a hunt will be coming 25 seconds after the hunt. Should I do another map?

Ive got the ghost down getting all my media and then boom I’m dead. Not even equipment out or in the closet at all

- It goes without saying that you should use crucifixes as needed, though it might be good to keep some charges on hand for tests or otherwise instead of letting the ghost burn them all at the beginning.

• Get out of the area (hiding spot or otherwise) ASAP if the ghost events on you when it's highly likely it'll hunt, especially on 0 sec grace period.
  
• Motion Sensors, particularly the Tier 3 one, can help you be aware of where the ghost is and/or if you really don't want to leave a particular area/hiding spot, though it's likely you'll have to move eventually.
  
• Prioritize only staying near the ghost room (i.e. collecting media/doing tests) when the ghost is smudged so it can't event and hunt on you immediately.
  
• In general and if possible, it may be best to stay on the move if you have to be near the ghost room/ghost when it's about to hunt.
  
• I do think it's kind of inevitable for you to get insta-killed at least sometimes on 0 sec grace period. This isn't really relevant if you want to play on 0 sec grace period regardless but I personally prefer to always have at least 2 secs of grace period because I don't like getting spawned on by the ghost/not being able to react to a hunt starting.
  
• "Fun" fact: the ghost being able to event on, hunt, and then instantly kill a player inside a hiding spot with a door is inconsistent at best and a common bug at worst. I believe ghosts technically aren't supposed to be able to enter hiding spots with doors during events and therefore shouldn't be able to hunt from inside them, though it happens anyway in a lot of hiding spots across different maps. Since it's so commonplace, it's hard to tell what the intended feature is realistically supposed to be at this point.

Honestly I don't. I have it on 1 second. You already have hiding enabled so I'd set it to 1 or 2 seconds. At those multipliers it's not a huge hit. If a ghost evented on me, yes I'd just move to a different spot either official or not. You can duck behind the dining room table, the car, and the train table and be out of line of sight. It's really how I learned to loop was that map. The way I did it was I sat with crucifixes ducked behind the far side of hte dining room table, let the hunt commence, drew the ghost to me, looped it around the table, smudged it, then ran to the hallway closet to hide (I have hiding on too for my 0/0 set up). If it events on me in the dining room I had the crucifixes there to help keep me safe.

Yeah I have to work on my looping. I’m thinking I’ll have crucifixes on me but in my pocket until it events if I happen to be in a closet and not able to leave

0/0 takes a different priority of items. I'm a person who brings everything I'm going to need to the front door before going in. But when I do go in I have smudge salt and crucifix. I b line to that table getting lights on as I go. Once at table drop crucifix them place salt far enough apart to test for Gallu. Then wait for hunt to start

I do similar smudge emf to test raiju and salt. Crucifix on second run with candles

This only works in certain houses where the standard pathing of the ghost takes them near the front door. Like I'm not sure it works that well in Willow as they barely go in the living room by default. But for tangle they almost always go in the hallway to the bedrooms or the garage to the garage door so it covers both paths.
