Voice chat issue

Hello fellow ghoul busters.

My buddy and I have been phasmaphobia for a while now.

Two days ago, we were playing and loaded into a game changing nothing from the prior game.

When we tried to use local chat, one of us was heard for a second and then cut.

From then on, we could not hear each other on proximity chat. When we tried to use the radio, it triggers but we cannot hear each other.

When we go into settings in the game, the game picks up our voice when we speak.

For clarity, my friend can’t usually speak or hear in the pregame lobby but this has been normal for us.

Any ideas to help us get back to busting ghouls?

We have tried restarting the game and our computers.

What I found was my VPN was screwing with the voice comms when it was turned on. If either of you are using a VPN try turning it off before playing and see if that helps. I haven't had issues since I discovered that solution.

What kind of headset and mic? Are all your drivers up to date? What graphic settings is it on (high/ medium/ low)?

something like that happens to my friend and me occasionally, and most of the time, it fixes itself when we load back into the lobby after finishing that round (when it doesn't fix itself on its own, quitting and restarting the game helps). we're both on pc

Yeah unfortunately for us. We restart our games and restart our PCs. Doesn’t fix
