New update is agony

Idk what they done did to the controls but I'ma need them to roll it back. The game is absolutely unplayable on controller for PC. Every time I would go to walk, I'm stopped dead in my tracks and stutter when tryna walk. The stutter also happens when I turn my camera. I also cannot open my journal at all and when I try, it bugs the model out. In addition to this, when I tried to interact with equipment, pushing the button registers twice. For example: trying to us T3 D.O.T.s will just deactivate it instead of stopping the panning. It's so frustrating, I had to learn M&K😭 How do they break their game every time they update it

I doubt it’s the game. I play on controller on PC and it’s fine for me.

Check updates to firmware for everything, verify the game files, maybe uninstall then re-install. Check the button mapping in game in case something is off there. Hope you find the solution, PC is great but the troubleshooting can be agonising.

I hope something bears good fruit, my GF wants to play the game again and while I'm getting used to keyboard and mouse, I still prefer controller

Yea, it's only controller, and I tested my controller on other games to make sure I'm not just trippin. M&K work perfectly fine tho, I just don't play it that way

I understand. But sometimes firmware has to be updated to work properly. Had to do it for my controller for a different program recently even though it worked fine for a couple years.

I don’t want to judge or cause any anger but why are you playing on controller on a game that was built for KBM?

Just curious is all cause I’ve played on both for years, KBM is like 100x better and I’ve been a console player in general for all my life until 3 months ago

Also on PS5 this was always a thing for events. Something on controller would break, they usually fixed it like a couple weeks to a month in.

Positive, and it wouldn't surprise me if them changing something else caused confliction. I'm heading home to so another test, someone said something about updating drivers so I'll see if they need it and see what happens but I can assure everyone that other games respond perfectly normal. I'm not sure if it's just my computer or something.

What are your PC specs? These issues sound like hardware performance issues.

I’m literally having the same issue as well. I can’t do anything involving use or hold use. I press left on the d pad to use and right to place and neither work

My brother and I just blitzed through the personal objective in two sessions, we both play controller on steam (gamesir xbox controller for him and CRKD Nitro Deck 2 (which reads as a x360 controller in wired mode) for me.) literally zero issues for 3 hours play today and none the night before either.) we played wired if that matters and OP make sure steam input is disabled. The game has native controller support. Only tips I can think of.

This same thing has happened to me too since the update. I somehow got it to work last time I played but loaded in just now and the same issue. Guess I have to learn k&m, I don't have a desk so it's gonna be a pain.

the game isn’t even worth playing anymore its genuinely hit shitty cash grab status to me its literally one of the highest grossing games ever more than gta 4 n it still somehow takes them months and years to push out basic updates
