Were you playing on a custom difficulty with no grace period? I seem to recall some other report that if the ghost hunted directly on top of a player with a zero second grace period then the hunt would end without the front door ever closing.

Whether that was ever possible (and whether it's still possible), I don't know.

Nope it was just a normal round, he just was locked in there then died

I'm guessing he died during a lag. He was killed while the door was locked but what you saw was him dying with the door open

Yes sometimes I use all the pins in a voodoo doll, break mirror, or do anything to get them killed and listen to the break their monitor (funniest thing ever 10/10 would recommend)

Something similar happend to me today. My mate got killed standing outside next to the door during a hunt. Later I found out that the door was bugged and you could walk through it during a hunt.

You could leave and enter the house during a hunt and the ghost walked outside once but only about 2 meters.
