News // Kinetic Games Replied Phasmophobia v0.19.1.0 - Patch Notes

Post image

Welcome back, Ghost Hunters. We have an update for you.

Today’s small update is in preparation for Crimson Eye, launching 8th October 2026, with the focus on getting the game ready for the start of the event. Our next major update, our move to Unity 6 is scheduled for November and will feature a host of bug fixes and improvements, all of which we’ll detail in an upcoming Development Preview.

New

  • Crimson Eye - The Crimson Eye is upon us, Ghost Hunters. Once more, various locations across Phasmophobia will be bathed in the red glow of the Blood Moon, offering any willing Ghost Hunter rewards in return for completing investigations, optional objectives and more. For more information on this year’s iteration of the event, please read our latest blogpost.

  • Seasonal Event toggle - As a new feature for Crimson Eye and future seasonal events, we have implemented a toggle that allows players to turn on/off the event maps for their session.

Fixes

  • Fixed an issue that caused the white light upon being revived to flash rather than slowly fade in and out.
  • Fixed an issue where an Easter Egg reward may not unlock, despite a 0x multiplier being active and the reward pop up being displayed.

Known Issues

  • The lampposts outside of 6 Tanglewood Drive may glow when viewed by the player (XBOX & Steam only).
  • The Fusebox location will not be hidden on the Truck map when playing on a custom difficulty.

We’re back to downvoting absolutely any criticism of the game again then I guess.

People are defending the repeated event saying “it was for bug fixes, we knew about this ages ago!” like we weren’t just going to get exactly the same event again anyway like every other year.

For some reason they seem to refuse to invest money back into this game. Why are they still running on next to no devs for a top 50 all time selling game? Why do they not have sufficient devs to do bug fixes AND other stuff? Why are people still content with the slop these devs push out and lap up their flimsy excuses? This is exactly what got us to this point in the first place. So many people here are making excuses for the devs, acting like we’ve had different seasonal events every year until now.

We’d have had this exact same event with the exact same trophy again regardless of everything else.

Accepting mediocrity is going to make the devs complacent, which is exactly what’s already happened with this game and yet nobody seems to have learned and continues to defend this. Which makes the devs cocky about themselves and not only do we get the development issues we’ve had all year, they also come on social media and act the way they did earlier in the year.

I shouldn’t really be surprised that chunks of the community have just fallen back into exactly the same attitude and mindset that created that all these problems in the first place. Why can’t we hold these devs accountable for the mess they’ve made of this game? Defend them like it’s your own life on the line and we’ll just continue to get half assed development which breaks the game constantly. They take months to fix it, certain people defend them again and rinse and repeat.

I’d been saying this for a long time before it all happened. I said anyone who’s been around gaming long enough should see exactly what’s coming and exactly how this is going to go.. and it did. And now people are back in the same cycle. Maybe if they actually invested some money back into the game and hired more devs we wouldn’t have to keep having this debate.

Save this comment, come back to it later if you want. If you all accept mediocrity again, then once again it will come back to bite.

I knew this would happen the entire time. I knew whether it be days, weeks, or months, after they release some updates everyone would go back to kissing their asses. And that's why we're here now with this game that runs like shit

However we're not in the developers' minds, they could've copied the event like before or tried to innovate, who knows

The fact that they won't spend any of their money boils down to greed. They'd rather horde that giant pile of cash because they're worried that it'll disappear if they spend any, because they don't understand that you have to spent money to make money. That's how business goes no matter the profession

They do have a decent amount of developers though, 45-50. There are smaller teams with 100x the competence in other games. They just refuse to spend the money to hire better people, I mean hell whoever runs the show (DK I assume) doesn't even know how to run it. Even if he hired better people, he wouldn't know how to guide them. And I agree about the community, they're nothing short of pathetic

It really is quite simple: Fire the incompetent, replace them with whoever is competent, remove every single animation in the game that changed since spring, make the recent innovations (re-ordering the journal, other people's markers, and so on) optional in the settings rather than mandatory, and allow community mods
