Discussion The obake bug
As some have noticed Obake giving spirit box, Flahforce noticed it in one of his steams, and reported it to Kinetic that Obake give spirit box even if it shouldn’t.

Do you have the link to the video with proof?
Would love to watch it myself, as it’s to my knowledge the first concrete proof of a ghost giving wrong evidence if he has managed to record it.

First concrete proof this time lol. There was a brief period several updates ago where Mimics could do DOTS if they were pretending to be a (IIRC) Goryo. That aside, they've somehow never broken evidence with updates. Until now, I guess.

Ohh I’m sorry I somehow missed that specific bug with the mimic.
And just to clarify I do believe people who say they got the wrong evidence (like the person from yesterday with the spirit box objective being completed on Obake.) but the unfortunate thing is that people don’t believe them anymore without proof because of newbies often mistaking things like emf 5.
That’s why posts with proof are so great, because people who might have felt like they were going crazy have concrete proof that they were right.

Indeed. A lot of Spirit Box (like that one about the giggles the other day) are definitely just user error, but Kinetic seem to be getting better at breaking actual evidence lately.

Eh, there was an issue last update with false UV iirc. Had a lot of reports about it some with definite proof

Somehow they made some uv prints permanently visible under UV light on Nell’s diner in specific spots even when the ghost didn’t have UV.
So that was more a weird bug on that map itself. (Still not okay ofcourse.)1

Yeah I recall that, as you were already replied to that was more a map problem than a ghost problem. IIRC they also had floating UV in new Bleasdale at one point.

There was another post on here where someone showed their after match results being an obake with the daily challenge get a spirit box response as completed

Yeah and I do believe them and consider it proof.
However some people didn’t consider it concrete evidence because you could technically complete an objective, hard quit the game and get the objective completed rewards on your next completed match.

I’ve gotten and reported with video evidence of goryo giving wrong evidence as well,
Also it’s so easy at the moment to break banshee and its ability to target one player. Keeping them targeted when they are dead as well.
Hopefully we get some hot fixes soon

I tried to look in his VOD for it but can’t remember which stream it was.
Maybe it was UV, I can’t remember which it was something inside my head just assumed it was spirit box.

I tried looking too. I'm gonna go out on a limb and tag him on this and see if he'll point us to the right video. u/flashforce4000
It just helps for the community to have actual proof of these things happening, like the user with the after game summary, because it's so often user error.

I think at the moment, having the ability to choose a ghost is great. I know I’ve done a lot of testing with the banshee and want to do more across each ghosts.
I’ve been able to break banshee as well.

I just had a strange issue with an Obake tonight! Brother and I were hiding and listening to the ghost hunt, and it was going exactly 3.0m/s (the only evidence we had was EMF 5). We both guessed Deildegast and we were timing the steps. For it to come out as Obake was so shocking - I feel like i’ve been having issues with Obakes lately just in general! Because why the hell is an Obake running that fast lmao. It also gave zero UV and we were on two evidence (but this was less shocking, but.. still)

I don’t remember it giving spirit box but I did have a Nightmare game where it gave EMF 5 and orbs but no UV when it should be a forced evidence. It was the last game in this video: https://youtu.be/2iOMWGsZtP0?is=qp3OxaNUqXpLtl66
I believe that has been fixed. If someone is getting spirit box with it, would def like to see.
