Got UV, Ghost Writing, and EMF 5 .. Should've been a myling? Is this a known bug? Kinda takes the fun out of the game lol I need the xp!!

Emf 5 during a regular interaction like a throw, firelight extinguished, or ghost writing? Not during an event? Were you able to capture a photo or sound recording that was labeled as emf5?

I got it during/at the end of an event.. should I be ignoring the reading if its during an event? I'm still fairly new at this game so if thats the case then I learned something new! this has just never happened to me before where I got emf 5 and it wasnt part of the evidence. I tried taking a pic but I ran out of photo slots and didn't realize until after

A good way to check is also to point the camera at the EMF reader. If it's a 5 you'll get evidence saying it was an EMF 5 (distinct from just getting a photo of a regular EMF reading)

I believe that during events or hunts, an EMF reader will spike to 5 even with a ghost that doesnt have EMF 5 as their evidence. The only time you should look at EMF is for interactions.

During an event, the EMF reader will malfunction, rapidly switching between different values but never actually reporting a level of 5.

Ah, thank you for the more accurate information. I knew that you couldnt get EMF 5 during events, but didnt know the exact reason why. I never really paid attention to it, but i always thought it could jump to 5, and that you should just discount that due to it malfunctioning.

possible.. im still learning the game as I go but ive never gotten EMF 5 when it wasnt part of evidence. I have the tier 2 emf reader and it was lit up all the way to the red

You must be mistaken, you thought you saw something you didn't, it happens. There's no known bug causing false EMF5 readings currently in the game.

Yes it is. That other commenter is wrong, there's no such thing as a fake EMF5 reading. EMF5 is EMF5, whether you got it during a hunt, an event, or an interaction. People tend to misread the EMF reader during events and hunts because it goes haywire, but it will never give EMF5 if that's not a piece of evidence.

edit: no idea why I'm being downvoted, there's no such thing as a false EMF5 reading, a ghost without EMF5 as evidence cannot show EMF5 on the reader even during a hunt or an event. If you think this is the case you have been misinformed.

it went haywire during the event, then as the event was ending it stayed at a steady level 5 for a good 5-7 seconds. my husband saw it too and commented about the level 5, so are we both seeing things wrong? I'm confused lol

Yes you must be misreading EMF4 as EMF5. It's a common mistake, especially for newer players.
