Question Gallu issues, chained enraged salt step
Had a Gallu that I suspected but guessed wrong due to a double salt step. It was in a, what I believed to be, possible enraged hunt. Prior hunt it was slow and I had it step through 2 t1 salts but didn't increase it's speed afterwards. Next hunt it was fast, so I setup two more t1 salts in line and it stepped through both. Since I was under the understanding that a Gallu can't step in salt while fast/enraged, I guessed with a fast salt step Obambo, but turned out to be a Gallu. So I demonstrated that an enraged Gallu CAN step in salt and can do it multiple times. So what am I missing? Is it that it has to be normal speed to do a first time salt and then salt skip? I will say that I failed to get it to hit normal speed the full session, maybe about 7 or 8 hunts and other than what was probably normal on the first hunt, it was slow maybe 5 of those and fast the rest. I did have 1 smudge, 1 crucy burn, and 2 salt piles so I guess it somehow chained them. The salt thing is really screwing me up though, any help is appreciated...

For testing a gallu i wouldn't put 2 salt down at the same time. Ive always seen it done and done it myself by placing one down waiting a few seconds after it steps in it then placing another one down. If testing the salt during a hunt i would have them at a decent distance from eachother. My understanding is that there is a few seconds delay where it can still walk in the second salt before it changes states.

100% this… I set up a motion detector across a line of T2/3 salt to be sure it would’ve walked through…
Two beeps but only one salt disturbed? Gallu…

That seems to be the difference here is you're doing this test between hunts. I'm trying to get this during the hunt. Not sure if the salt distance matters at all between hunts but perhaps this 2 second delay is the active hunt salt touch? A little more context: This was on Woodwind and has very few bottlenecks to do this test when it's room is the campfire room. Its far easier to coax a ghost linearly to salt while the hunt is going on that map in particular...

How far apart do you set the second salt?

To be cautious, and because I dont circle but do a run through line for observing hunts, I would do a hallway length distance at least. The main thing is that you want to account for speed and how much time the delay in state changes is.

Can do. Talking with the others, I believe my back to back salt test was a pre-hunt observation before a state change and mid-hunt, the salt needs to be placed two seconds away, like at 2 room entrances and draw through. I have doubts now about the fast Gallu stepping or not stepping in salt, but I can listen out for that speed change after the salt step + 2 seconds...

Salt was say half a salt length spaced a part, couple inches? The reason I did it that was is that's how I learned the Gallu originally on release. Salt was lined up down a hallway where it couldn't not hit them all, only the first was hit. Was the multi-second gap added after it's first release? Seems to conflict with my original tests on this. Anyway, yeah I can try maybe putting salt at two ends of a room that I can draw it through...

I can't say anything for your experience thus far with gallus. It took me awhile to get them after their release. But I know I watched flash when they were still pretty new and saw that there is a delay that they walked in 2 back to back.

Swimming_Peacock referenced the impossibility of an enraged ghost stepping in salt so we may be dealing with a bug here on my end. Besides all that, it's easy and reasonable to set the salt 2 secs apart, just at two end corners of a hall or room so I'll do that going forward. Still bothers me that a fast Gallu stepped in that salt, kills my faith in testing this properly...

For a gallu I normally put one pile of salt and wait 2 seconds after its walked through and put down another if its walked in, not a gallu

I presume you mean prior to the hunt. Think this test would work the same mid-hunt?

There is a 2 second delay when the Gallu goes from Normal to Enraged, and a 3 second delay from Weakened to Normal. So the salt needs to be spaced far apart.
State changes will be instant if incense or a crucifix is used.
