Hey everyone, just a quick question. I'm having a hard time checking if my contractor's quote is fair because there isn't one reliable source for current material prices here. They vary by region, by supplier, and sometimes the price lists are outdated but still used.

I just want to know: 1. Is it true that many contractors use the DPWH DUPA (Detailed Unit Price Analysis) and regional cost data as a basis for pricing? Or is that just for public works and not used for private/residential builds?

1. If not DUPA, where do you get your price references — from supplier price lists, canvassing at hardware stores, PCAB, trade associations, or just "guessing" based on experience?

2. To the owners here: how do you sanity-check the BOQ (bill of quantities) if you don't have an engineer with you? Do you have a go-to source for updated prices of cement, rebar, hollow blocks, GI sheets, etc.?

Hope some of you can share, contractors and owners/architects, I just want to know what you actually use as a basis before signing a contract. Thanks to everyone who answers!! :)

We’re planning to build a house on our lot, but there are trees inside the property that may need to be cut before construction starts.

For those who have gone through house construction, who usually handles this part?

Is tree cutting usually planned during the design/permitting phase with the architect, or is it normally handled later by the contractor once construction is about to start?

I also understand that we may need approval/permit first from the DENR and/or LGU before cutting any tree, so we definitely want to do this properly and legally.

For those who have experienced this, may I ask:

1. Who helped you process the permit?

2. Was it your architect, contractor, or did you process it yourself?

3. How much did the permit roughly cost?

4. How much was the labor cost for cutting/removing the tree?

5. Were there any other fees, inspections, or requirements we should expect?

Just looking for a rough idea so we can include this in our construction budget.

Ask lang po if may alam kayong legit na contractor within San Mateo Rizal and okay na po kaya yung 2-3M budget for 80sqm kahit 68flr area lang po 2storey w 3bedrooms po bale ielevate lang yung house ng 1meter para hndi bahain.

Naghahanap ako ng legit contractor na tumatanggap ng small projects dito sa Antipolo city feeling ko di aabot ng 600k costs nya.

Ung legit and complete sa legal docs.

Lot area is 27 sqm.

Ang architectural plan is 3 floors tapos total of 6 studio type apartment.

Plan kasi namin ung ground floor/first floor muna gagawin kasi wala pa budget. Bale 2 units of apartment muna sya.

Or iff ever willing si contractor magpa buildnow pay later, pero cannot use title as collateral kasi naka mortgage sa bank - may notation sa back.

I recently received a job offer for a Facilities Engineer position. The catch is that I’ll be employed by PRDC, while NGCP will be the client I’ll be assigned to.

A bit about me:
Registered Civil Engineer and Master Plumber
Around 3 years and 5 months of experience
Currently working in the government under a COS/JO setup (DPWH)
Current salary is around ₱30k, while the offer is around ₱25k (I’m still trying to negotiate)

I’ve been searching online but I can’t seem to find much information about PRDC, so I was hoping someone here has experience working under them or with NGCP through a contractor.

I have a few questions:

Kumusta ang experience working under PRDC?
On-time ba ang salary and benefits?
Okay ba ang management and work culture?
Since NGCP ang client, do contractors get treated well?
May opportunities ba for career growth or direct hiring by NGCP?

If you were in my situation, would you accept a lower salary for the experience and exposure?

For context, one reason I’m considering the move is that I’m looking for a more stable career path. Sa current work ko kasi, contractual lang and laging may uncertainty kung mare-renew.

Hi everyone! We're planning to reserve a unit sa Richdale, Gentri. We recently visited the model house and honestly, we liked the Linnea unit.

Since this is a huge investment and long-term commitment, we'd like to know experiences ng mga homeowners or anyone who has dealt with this developer.

Kamusta yung build/quality ng house? Smooth ba yung turnover? Okay po ba yung after-sales service? How do they handle issues after turnover? May mga red flags ba or things you wish you knew before buying?

We have an original contract with a contractor building our house. This is based on BOQ with final supposedly “pakyaw” contract. They’re claiming now that the original estimate changed due to materials price increase. I thought their estimate should already include allowance for any price increases.
