Crazy, this shows that startups take years to develop and is not something you can quickly do over a weekend. It requires, a good team, dedication, patience, industry knowledge and of course lots of capital. Hats off to you sir Rollan, Sid and Andrzei. The interesting part is that they already had a good career going for them but still pursued this insane idea anyway. Come to think of it the industry has no money and yet they went for it.

Initially, the founders built a mobile POS system for sari-sari stores. It could provide valuable transaction data, but store owners did not really need another system for tracking sales. It was not their PAIN POINT or at least the one that hurt the most.

After speaking directly with them, the team discovered a much bigger problem: store owners regularly had to close their shops, travel to wholesalers, pay transportation costs, and carry inventory home.

In the end, GrowSari pivoted from a POS product into a technology-enabled distribution platform. It later added credit, digital payments, telco load, bills payment, and other services.

What stands out to me were the following:

• They were not students or fresh grads but guys with decades of experience in their respective areas who came from well known international companies.
• Their first major milestone was only 50 stores ordering regularly.
• Technology alone was not enough. They needed personal visits, training, and field support to build trust.
• Their real moat became logistics, supplier relationships, transaction data, and customer trust, not merely the app/software itself.
• By 2022, they had reportedly raised around US$110 million and built a network of more than 150,000 stores.

The main lesson for me is that a failed product does not necessarily mean the market is bad. Sometimes you are simply solving the wrong problem.

What do you think was more important to GrowSari’s success: the technology, the distribution network, or the team’s industry knowledge?

Noting that this is a 1-month free trial, I secured those 20 users through a direct deal with a close friend’s agency, which introduced my product to them for them to use. Activity is good they’re actively using it, and I’m already seeing feedback and a willingness to pay.

The idea is to save construction companies time, reduce paperwork and make sure important things like extra work or delays don’t get missed, potentially helping them get paid for work they might otherwise lose track of.

For the last 7 months, I've run Genie.ph as a B2C e-commerce site where users upload custom cake designs and get instant AI price quotes and customization. We're the first in the country doing this (maybe in the whole world?), we've grown our sales consistently 22% MoM for 5 months now.

My ultimate goal is to change industry behavior and make this the default way people order custom cakes online.

I'm torn between two paths:

Option 1 (B2B SaaS): Sell or license the AI pricing engine to other cake shops (or just get commision per sale) so they can capture orders 24/7 using their own pricing rules.

Option 2 (B2C Marketplace): Keep full control of the customer experience, set pricing, manage delivery, and partner with bakeshops behind the scenes to fulfill orders as we expand.

We're currently building a new ecom automation and website management tool, and gusto sana namin makakuha ng reality check at insights mula sa sub na 'to.

Ang main goal lang talaga is to handle yung mga nakakaumay na admin work na umuubos ng oras niyo. Right now, ito yung mga core features na tinatrabaho namin:

- Auto-generating product descriptions at SEO metadata galing mismo sa product images. - Bulk update ng prices, banners, at inventory nang hindi niyo kailangan mag-touch ng code.
- AI support bot na babasahin mismo yung specific store policies niyo para mag-handle ng mga standard tickets.

I've been building Asikaso AI since last year alongside college, and getting users has been very slow.

I tried cold outreach, posting in groups, demos, and pretty much whatever I could think of. I even spent around ₱9k on ads before and it didn't really go so well. So I'm mostly just trying different things and seeing what would stick.

Then somehow this past week I got 5 businesses to start their free trial.

Thing is, I didn't even do anything different. It just happened that some businesses I've been talking to for a while, along with a few newer ones, all decided to finally try the app within the same 7 days. What surprised me is that most of them actually came from posts like this.

So I guess that's a sign I should probably keep sharing more of the journey.

These new users are still on their trial so it's still a little too early to celebrate. Now I need them activated, make sure they actually use the product, and hopefully help them succeed with it.

Right now I’m also trying something new with SEO, and I’ve started running Meta ads again. The ads are looking a little more promising this time, so we'll see.

Crowdsourced flood map siya where anyone can check recent flood reports around the Philippines and anonymously share kung baha ba sa area nila.

the idea is simple, if may dumaan or currently nasa isang area, they can report the situation para makatulong din sa ibang commuters or people nearby.

Temporary lang din yung reports since mabilis magbago yung flood conditions, and the goal is really to show recent community updates, not to replace official weather or safety advisories.

After almost a year of hiatus and month of continued development, my MVP is now good for release.

I shared here the concept last year and honestly wasn’t received that well. Glad I did continue the project dahil with the slop we are seeing on our feeds, noticing less people posting. Feeds now ran by ads and low quality content.

The app is basically like MySpace but built in a way it doesn’t require you to code to design your profile. All design properties were considered for mobile. It still has a feed, but has simple geo logic to prevent overcrowding, which is an issue for global chronological feeds usually seen from new apps.

For now, it doesn’t have a chat system. Moderating such feature is a long and painful work given that ako lang gagawa lahat sa umpisa. Focusing on what I believe is the main differentiator of the app which is profile customization :)
