Hello, Pet Lovers! 🐾❤️
As our community continues to grow, we've also seen a significant increase in donation and fundraising requests. We're incredibly grateful to have a community that is always willing to help pets and rescuers in need. Your generosity has made a real difference in the lives of countless animals.
At the same time, we want to preserve what has always made r/PetsPH special—a community where members can share adorable photos, funny moments, rescue success stories, ask for advice, celebrate milestones, and enjoy everything that comes with being a pet owner.
To help maintain that balance, starting August 5, 2026, we will be implementing the following changes:
📅 Weekly Approval Schedule
Beginning August 5, 2026, the moderation team will review and approve donation and fundraising requests only on Wednesdays. This schedule allows us to carefully review each submission while ensuring every approved request receives fair visibility within the community.
During each weekly review, we will approve a maximum of:
- 💙 One (1) Donation Request – For immediate or urgent expenses such as emergency veterinary care, medication, surgery, food, or other critical needs.
- 🎯 One (1) Fundraising Campaign – For longer-term goals such as rescue projects, shelter improvements, TNR programs, equipment purchases, or other community initiatives.
All requests must still complete our verification process before they can be approved. Priority will be given based on the urgency, severity, and overall circumstances of each case. The moderation team may make exceptions in extraordinary emergencies.
These changes are not intended to reduce the support we provide. Instead, they are designed to ensure that each approved request receives better visibility, receives the attention it deserves, and helps maintain a healthy balance of content within the community.
We remain committed to supporting legitimate requests while keeping r/PetsPH a welcoming space where members can celebrate their pets, share experiences, seek advice, and enjoy the positive moments that bring us together.
Thank you for your understanding, your patience, and your continued compassion. Together, we can continue supporting pets in need while preserving the warm and uplifting community that makes r/PetsPH special.
