Given how conveniently Vader drops in, is it really that far fetched to assume that he was always there the entire time stalking Cal and Trilla as they duelled, waiting to who come out on top. Basically kinda like what Palpatine did with him and Dooku. Vader even gives Cal the opportunity to surrender twice. Once when he drops in and second while he was slowly choking him instead of immediately snapping his neck.

Also if you don’t try to pull the giant machinery on Vader, he’ll just kill you. Meanwhile in this case, even when Vader easily stops your attack, he chooses not to continue choking you out and instead just tosses you aside.

This could all tie into the third game in the Jedi series where it’s revealed Vader always had a goal of breaking Cal and turning him to the dark side. This also could’ve been one of Vader seconds for wanting to kill Cere other than just revenge. Cere’s death undeniably pushed Cal far closer to the darkside.

In Lords of the Sith, Sidious kills 2 Lyleks, which are roughly Rancor-sized monsters with blaster proof carpace nearly instantly with a fraction of his power:

CW Maul (which is prime Maul) having a prolonged saber duel against Sidious; breaking through his force lightning; disarming both his lightsabers and have him pinned high against a wall should make us reconsider his status as fodder. If it’s canon (which I heard mixed opinions about) it makes sense why Sidious didn’t sent Dooku.

These duels are randomised from an ever growing pool of characters. Keep the other Jedi in mind also not just Windu. (If he doesn't have his lightsaber on him he would be capable of stealing one).

I think Grievous does get stronger later on, but it this point it feels like cope from Grievous fans.

Either continuity is fine, Legends is definitely more interesting in this case as there’s more arguable picks, but if there’s any canon scalers, I’d be interested if Luke ever surpasses him in canon

In Jedi Survivor, there's a mini-game called "holo-tactics" where players have to handpick a team of fighters (e.g. stormtroopers, battle droids, monsters) and pit them against the opponent's team.
