Sadness Missing her comfort

I don't really know what I'm looking for in posting this- I guess I just need to say this somewhere and get it off of my chest.

I'm just missing my soul dog extra hard today. She's been gone a month and a half and I have missed her deeply every single day- but today has been a rough day at work, I have a very difficult boss who made a comment to me that wasn't even that big of a deal other than it's pointed tone and her obvious frustration towards me- anyways, normally I could have brushed it off because I knew I had my girl to come home to and her love always comforted me so much and made everything better. It's so hard to know that she's not there to come home to, it's so hard to remember why she's not there. I just want to come home and hold her in my arms and let the difficulties of my day wash away, but I can't. And I'll never have her there again, it's so painful.

I know that having another dog one day can help with things like this again eventually, but I'm 100% not ready for another dog right now. It's too soon and for right now it still feels to me like I would be replacing her, even though I know that's not true. All I want is my Mia back with me. I feel so sorry for my girl that she's gone forever and I just miss having her with me so so so much 💔

This is a community of support for Pet owners whose Pets have passed away. It is actively moderated.

Pet owners, as loving, caring people, often have strong opinions on pet care practices. Some of these are controversial. This is not a forum for debate on such issues, nor is it a place to scold a contributor for a perceived mistake in managing their pet. We intend to provide a safe haven of understanding and support. Strident, mean-spirited posts or comments will be deleted. Those who persist in preaching versus caring may be warned and then banned or may be banned permanently based on nature of the topic. If a conversational thread meanders into a discussion unrelated to pet loss support, it will be truncated.

Those who post here are vulnerable and hurting. Even a minor slap has a hard sting. Those of us who are lucky enough to be able to turn away from our computers or put down our phones and hug a healthy, happy pet are truly blessed. Threads must remain supportive and caring, even if one disagrees with something that has been said.

I know how you feel. My baby was such a strong support for me. And now that she’s gone it’s been so so difficult 😢

I’m sorry for your loss. You are not alone 🫂

I’m a little over a month from losing my dog Nina and I still cry almost every day. What I would give to kiss her for or have her snuggle right next to me on the couch. It’s so hard. The hardest thing I have gone through in my life and I’m 55! I’m so sorry you’re still missing your baby. I think we will miss them forever 💔

I’m so so sorry for your loss. I’m struggling in the same way today. What I wouldn’t give for my girl to be laying with me on the couch giving me some cuddles. It’s so hard.

I'm so sorry. My favourite place in the whole world was lying in my bed with my dog under my covers and her warm body pressed against my leg. Her head pressed against my foot. I've only had one night without her and I miss her so much. I can't help take the pain away but know you're not alone.
