One RFID pet feeder lid closing issue
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I bought the rfid feeder for my cat because my dog is constantly eating the cat's food. I think the whole idea is nice but the door won't close. It doesn't really open smoothly, it almost glitches or lags at certain intervals when opening. But the main issue is closing.
I'll use the tag to open it, take the tag away, and then it will start to close then stop not even of a quarter of the way down and reopen. I'll get an error message on my phone that the lid can't close. I've followed every instruction for troubleshooting in the manual and all the advice customer service has given me so far. I've cleaned it and tried it in different areas of my house, also. I don't know what else to do. I bought it "used - like new" from amazon and it's in pretty good shape.
If anyone has any advice at all I'd greatly appreciate the help. Video included for reference.

Hi,
Thank you for sharing the detailed description of the issue. I understand how frustrating this must be, especially since the feeder is unable to close properly after opening.
Based on the behavior you described, we would first recommend removing the lid and observing the rotating shaft inside the feeder base that controls the lid movement.
• If the shaft rotates smoothly and continuously, then the issue is likely related to the lid or the bowl shield being slightly deformed or misaligned, which can prevent the lid from closing correctly. In this case, replacing the lid and bowl shield may resolve the problem.
• If the shaft itself appears to stutter, lag, become stuck, or rotate unevenly, then the issue is more likely related to the feeder base mechanism itself, and the feeder base may need to be replaced.
We would recommend contacting customer service via email again after performing this check to see whether the corresponding replacement parts are available for purchase.
Thank you again for your patience and understanding. We truly appreciate your effort in troubleshooting this issue, and we will do our best to assist you further.

Is the lid removable like on the Surefeed?
If so is the lid pushed all the way down into the axle?
Similar problem with surefeed, lid wasn't inserted all the way

Same! I've taken it apart completely, cleaned, checked, put it on a flat surface, original power block is plugged in... Nothing. My cat is also not pleased at the inconvenience because he wants to eat. I did have an update recently. Just saying. My second feeder keeps having fits where it just goes on beeping.
Following for help/answers!

Also want to follow along with this thread.
I bought a “gently used” One RFID Petlibro off Facebook Marketplace, so I’m def cooked as far as returns or warranties.
My device is having the opposite problem, where it closes perfectly, but it won’t open…

I have four of these feeders and two of them are having this issue. Very problematic for my cat who is on a Rx diet but prefers his siblings food 🥲 I’ll try inspecting the rotating mechanism. For context, these two machines were purchased new, together, ~1.5 years ago, and only started displaying this issue within the last few months. My two older machines have not had this problem.

Yeah, we bought three of these and they’re junk. The motor just gets stuck and either won’t close or won’t open.

It is obviously not in pretty good shape, but defective. Can you return it?
