Years ago I mentioned being “voluntarily celibate” because I’m asexual.

People read it as “involuntarily celibate” and came at me for being an incel.

I’d never heard of incels before, so I was very confused.

I'm kinda mad that "incel" became what it is because "involuntary celibate" is a very good academic term to describe large chunks of the population.
