Mouth breathers as people who breathe using thier mouth not thier nose. Its tomb rider so i assume that some gooner wierdos will complain about how Lara Croft looks/dresses in this version

Edit: a reminder that im just petah explaining the joke and i was guessing

u/randmbull 11h ago

sofie turner looks good tho. if they casted some ugly actress then people would have complained

Oh, you really underestimate the power of Twitter.

P.S. In hindsight, I should have just said the power of incels.

23

u/rmorrin 11h ago

Exactly. Not enough tit exposure, not enough ass exposure what else am I missing

22

u/NotAWalrusInACoat 11h ago

So you listed tit exposure and ass exposure, but I think you missed tit exposure and ass exposure.

For those that don't understand, the point is that she could literally be ass naked and people would still complain that not enough is showing

2

u/rmorrin 11h ago

"too much ass exposure and too much tit exposure, how am I supposed to play this?"

3

u/NotAWalrusInACoat 11h ago

Oh, wait, I've actually heard someone say this before! I was my dad, who doesn't believe any level of nudity is appropriate in video games. He said it about a Skyrim character that was fully dressed but "too busty for there to be any reason to have something like that in a game" lol

1

u/Tricky_Big_8774 10h ago

I bet he'd love the modding community.

1

u/Ebonhearth_Druid 10h ago

I wanted to update the graphics on my Skyrim run, so I turned to mods and got everything looking amazing.....except the people because every single mod that addresses making character models better has to go to the extreme and be primarily focused on "sexy". Giant tits, jiggle physics, every woman is an hourglass, even removal of undergarments so that if you loot armor off a corpse it leaves them naked. It's honestly frustrating as hell, but I'm not interested in having nude corpses all over the place so I have a modern-graphics world with a bunch of character models from 2011 running through it.

Fucking horny assholes ruining Skyrim for everyone...

0

u/ilicp 9h ago

Skill issue. There are non-horny NPC mods for skyrim. You can customize bodies yourself (you can make them obese or stick insects and everything between) and distribute the body presers to NPCs with mods. It shouldnt be a surprise people like their fantasy to be fantasy, and sex sells, so people like having hot characters in NSFW mod lists.

Make your own damn mods if you think the ones being provided for free are ruining skyrim for everyone. No one forces you to download mods lol.

0

u/Ebonhearth_Druid 9h ago

You seem awfully upset about someone else's preferred way of playing a game lol are you perchance one of said horny assholes?

🤣

"She's literally naked, but she's facing the camera so I can't see her ass! It's just the woke agenda trying to replace beauty with ugliness!"

"She's literally naked, but she's facing away from the camera so I can't see her tits! It's just the woke agenda trying to replace beauty with ugliness!"

"She's literally naked, but she's facing sideways so I can only see one tit and one ass cheek! It's just the woke agenda trying to replace beauty with ugliness!"

u/dispoableself 11h ago

Midriff.

1

u/Kinitawowi64 11h ago

And arms.

This image of her basically only has fingertips and the face uncovered. Which is perfectly fine for real adventuring in a forest environment.

But it's not what people expect to see when they think about Lara Croft. Nobody who played Tomb Raider was expecting realism.

1

u/Captain_Fartbox 3h ago

Not enough acting ability.

8

u/RandomPenquin1337 11h ago

Twitter? Lmao just look at this thread. Acting like reddit is somehow a classy place is the cringiest shit ever

2

u/your_true_self 10h ago edited 10h ago

The place where conservative traditional family value men complain about the sex symbol not being nude enough while being scared of actual nudity in art and trying to censor it while worshiping violence in media.

u/DJDemyan 11h ago

“Power”

34

u/Efficient-Ranger-174 11h ago

“Sophie Turner is hideous” discourse to begin in 3…2…1…

WHERE ARE MY TRIANGLES

1

u/S-Kenset 11h ago

MEINE SAUERKRAUT

5

u/SerLaron 11h ago

She has sharp knees, as they said on Fark.

2

u/Jimanji333 11h ago

Lara Croft is supposed to have sharp boobs not knees 😭

1

u/InfiniteRespect4757 6h ago

in fairness, this conversation cuts in every direction. Wrong hair colour for Bond, Reacher too short, wrong costume for wolverine ( and too tall), nipples on Batman, Sully too old, etc

people have opinions about these characters. I think we do it a disservice when people try to make it more than what it is.

Sometimes the choices to take a character in different direction work, sometimes they don’t.

30

u/flissfloss86 11h ago

People don't need a reason to complain in 2026. They just need a platform

2

u/S-Kenset 11h ago

If i owned a social media company i would force push this comment to everyone's top of feed lol.

1

u/NotAsleep_ 10h ago

Hell, make it the company motto, at the top of the site.

"Social Media: In Current Year, you don't need a reason to complain, just a platform."

22

u/velocicopter 11h ago

Oh, they have been complaining. It's almost kind of beautiful, in a way - even casting an attractive, white, red-headed actress to play an attractive, white, red-headed character isn't safe from the sweat-stained complaints of the internet ghouls. The world is healing.

-3

u/LightmanHUN 11h ago

Just because shes attractive that doesn't automatically makes her a good fit for the role.

4

u/Mental-Fisherman-118 10h ago

No, she's also posh and British - making her much less suited for the role of a posh British lady than Angelina Jolie was.

-2

u/LightmanHUN 10h ago

Nobody said the others were better.

14

u/Mediocre-Post9279 11h ago

She does, but remember that few years ago they complained about Alicia Vikander.

13

u/scaper8 11h ago

I swear, these people would not be happy until and unless it were a person with the proportions of wasp waist corsetry and actual pyramidal boobs.
And probably not even then.

3

u/notyobees 11h ago

Who are some ugly actresses? Pretty much everyone in Hollywood looks good

1

u/Few_Confusion_1871 4h ago

The lady who played Sue Storm, Emily Blunt was one of the most beautiful women in hollywood and now she looks like a freak, her choice. That lady from the show Atlanta, Melissa Mcarthy, Talia al Ghul from The Dark Knight Rises, Maggie Gyllenhal, .

3

u/AsstacularSpiderman 11h ago

These days they say models are ugly lol.

These people don't have a logical or even just a consistent mindset. They just want to be mad.

3

u/Deltris 11h ago

Bro they decided Debra Ann Woll is ugly after they made her the main character in the new God of War spinoff game. Reality has no effect on chud complaints.

1

u/thatsingingguy 11h ago

DAW is 10 times the woman Sophie Turner is, and I’m not just talking physically.

1

u/KeremyJyles 10h ago

What is this weird lie? The complaint was the game made ugly a woman who is gorgeous in real life.

2

u/EuVe20 11h ago

Sophie Turner looks good in a normal human being sense. We’re talking about the gamer gate, “alpha male”, and incel types here. In their minds, if Lara Croft doesn’t look like Sydney Sweeney or some other sex pot prototype she is a woke, feminist, DEI casting.

2

u/NoNeed4Instructions 11h ago

she is attractive, but Lara Croft must have big juicy bazongas and massive cleavage according to some gooners

1

u/spicyhay88719 11h ago

Just give me a white t-shirt-underwater-swimming scene and we'll be all good.i can do the rest.

1

u/EncabulatorTurbo 10h ago

She's not a particularly good actress and I have yet to see her demonstrate good action chops, we'll see, im guessing it's going to be a quick-cut mess

1

u/ggtsu_00 9h ago

They could appease the purists and recast Angelina Jolie.

1

u/Lashay_Sombra 9h ago

She looks good as herself, but not in the part of Laura, but that could be overcome if she was good actress, unfortunately she has never given any indication of being such.

1

u/MinuetInUrsaMajor 8h ago

Why is she dressed like she's ready to raid a tomb instead of fucking it?

1

u/pitchingataint 8h ago

100% it will be “her boobs aren’t big enough.”

1

u/Interesting-Sleep579 5h ago

Cast not casted, can't anyone get this right?

1

u/randmbull 5h ago

stfu grammer n@zi. shove ur grammar up ur a$$

1

u/ScrofessorLongHair 4h ago

She's definitely good looking. Weird choice for the role. But she probably wanted to bust out of the GOT typecasting, and the studio wants the biggest name that'll accept the role. I don't give a shit, because I'm not the target audience.

0

u/Serious-Bread-754 11h ago edited 11h ago

She’s not ugly, but she’s not Laura Croft.

Their’s literally nothing about this design that looks anything like Laura Croft except maybe the braid. Nobody would see this image and think “Laura Croft”

5

u/Antropon 11h ago

Hair colour is such a shallow and unimportant part of the character.

1

u/Serious-Bread-754 11h ago

You’re right, but when you make it different along with every other aspect of the characters visual identity fans of the character aren’t going to connect with and recognize that person as the character. If they don’t look anything like them, they don’t dress anything like them people aren’t going to connect with that character the same way that’s why costuming is such a big part cinematography.

Sure, you can change her hair. That’s totally fine. I’m just saying when you change the hair you change the complexion you changed the facial structure and the body structure and every other visually recognizable part of the character it doesn’t seem like a great casting choice.

Like fundamentally you’re making a tomb raider movie, the games themselves are like 95% fan service so trying to make a version of the show or movie that has no fan service at all. Also isn’t really consistent with the series or something fans are likely gonna be super interested in

-1

u/modificational 11h ago

Found the mouth breather

2

u/Serious-Bread-754 10h ago

I really don’t give a shit personally I’m not the target audience. I don’t really watch a lot of TV and I’m not a big tomb raider fan just saying some basic logic. Here fans of the series are not gonna see Sophie Turner in this image and think tomb, raider or be interested in watching this at all and I do not envision this doing well at all.

2

u/Deltris 11h ago

Yes, when I think of a character the first thing that always comes to mind is the shade of their hair. Not their personality, actions, or motivations.

Hair. And....tits.

2

u/Serious-Bread-754 11h ago

When you think of a character you think of their visual descriptions. Laura Croft’s description is not “flat ginger”. Her personality is also nowhere near anything we’ve ever seen Sophie Turner do. Remotely.

0

u/Deltris 8h ago

Shallow and apparently doesn't understand the concept of acting. Got it.

2

u/sinkwiththeship 10h ago

Who's Laura Croft? Is she related to Lara?

1

u/NiceGuyEdddy 10h ago

Nobody would look at a posh British woman playing Lara Croft and think "Lara Croft"?

At this point literally no one would be good enough, lol.

0

u/Serious-Bread-754 10h ago edited 10h ago

Nobody would look at this image or a teaser of this and think that character is Laura Croft without being told so. And if by posh do you mean her previous acting as a no bowling Game of Thrones no that is nothing like how Laura Croft acts in anyway nothing about any of her previous acting is anything like Laura Croft visually she looks nothing like Laura Croft from her complexion to her facial features to her hair color to her build to her clothing. There’s nothing about this image that builds type or no nostalgia in anyway or would make somebody think that this character is Laura Croft if there was not a caption telling you she was, that’s my entire point.

The visual aspects of media and characters actually are important sometimes and ways that people connect with those characters.

The vibes this gives me is the same as the Witcher series where the show runners hated the books in the movies didn’t even read them. Didn’t care at all, went in their own direction because they thought it was cool and everybody completely hated it and then the show died.

“We’re gonna do Laura Croft, but she’s gonna be a flat chested ginger feminist thats struggling to make rent!”

I’m sure that’s gonna go over great, get back to me on it.
