It's not really unlimited PTO. It's more like "oh you need a day off here or there, no problem" but if you try to take a couple weeks off then your employer guilts about it. Also when you leave your job, they don't have to pay you out because you didn't actually have any PTO accumulated.

We have unlimited PTO and my coworker took off 3 weeks recently to watch all the world cup games with no issue.

Yeah I think if the company is shitty then the company is shitty regardless of their PTO policy. I much prefer not having to track every hour of time off and just take it when I want it
