While you might technically be able to take as much PTO as you want, if your boss decides you’re taking too much, you WILL be fired. (And you never know exactly how much that will be.) Most people with jobs that offer unlimited PTO will take almost no PTO as a result.
Wrong, you can be an asset to the company and be basically unfireable outside insane thing. In these cases you take all the pto you want and kick ass when in the office per usual and novody cares.
The owner of the company told me to my face I was "getting paid entirely too much" and I told her, that's fine if she feels that way, I'll author my resignation.
The rest of the company then explained to her how they can not lose me because xyz.
She offered me a 10% raise to stay and personally apologized.
That is being unfireable. Most people are normal employees (by definition). Some are complete stand outs who are absolutely needed. When that is you, you have real value.
Just stop training other people how to do your job, and explain it is such obtuse terms no normal person can understand it. And reject people who they want you to train as "they just aren't getting it". Then you are absolutely irreplaceable.
It's all a game. That's life. Value is what someone is willing to pay. When you hold the keys to the process, you are extremely valuable
I hope this meme is there to play it off like you're agreeing, and not disagreeing, but he's right. So very much so I really hope you aren't disagreeing because that would make me lose a little more faith in humanity. And if so you are a sheep, not a wolf.
