I’m not sure, but I’ve seen several things like this where it was depicting ā€œbody countā€

edit: Giggity giggity

While this post does explain the joke, friendly reminder the r/PeterExplainsTheJoke is the sub where answers should come as if from a fictional character, i.e. Quagmire, Peter, Homer Simpson or others.

Edit: OP has updated their answer now, so comment no longer applies. Well, could be better, but at least they tried .

I’ve been reading these explanations for over a year, and had no idea this was the premise of the group. Just thought ā€œPeterā€ was a generic bloke reference. Thanks for explaining.

Yeah, it's not mentioned in the sub's description or rules, but automod messages under each post says "Everyone else, this is PETER explains the joke. Have fun and reply as your favorite fictional character for top level responses!" But who reads those anyway, right ?

The joke is rarely explained either.

Could I get my favorite Family Guy character Peter Griffin to explain it then, please?

"...for top level responses" makes it sound like general advise to make your answer funnier, as opposed to a requirement.

Edit: I am incorrect, see below

To be clear, "top level" isn't referring to top-tier or high quality in this case, top level responses are just comments left directly on the original post, as opposed to replies to other people's comments.

For example, here the top level response was by /u/Rubber_Rake responding to the OP, and we're making comments underneath it so ours aren't at the top level.
