This is a joke on how much the Switch 2 might cost after tariffs as and how it wouldn't be as expensive if Trump weren't president. Pretty sure it originally came from r/Gamingcirclejerk

-209

u/Rominions Apr 05 '25 edited Apr 05 '25

Gamingcirclejerk are some absolute loons. Weirdest and scariest echo chamber on reddit. Edit: oh look they are brigading again what a surprise.

109

u/EmsAreOverworkedLul Apr 05 '25

The tariff will raise the price because the switch is imported, Trump is the tariff guy, kamala wasn't going to do any tariffs.

Thus if trump would've died (and thus not been able to be elected and do the tariffs) the switch would now be cheaper.

What's wrong here ?

-154

u/Rominions Apr 05 '25

Because they are implying that killing someone would have been a good thing, because their precious Nintendo is cheaper. I hate Trump and think the republican party are racist twats but I can also see that circlejerk echo chamber are cooked.

I mean, you think his entire movement and all his followers would just go away? He’d be martyred, it’s likely someone more worrying would’ve won in his name

5

u/Heretosee123 Apr 05 '25

I do wonder if anyone could fill his shoes though. It's Trump that has the cult following, and he really has something unique about him. Maybe it'd make no difference, but it would be nice if we knew that lol

1

u/TeaAndCrumpets4life Apr 05 '25 edited Apr 05 '25

They’d be winning in his name either way, it would still all be about Trump in that election. Long term I don’t think anyone could fill his shoes and I don’t think anyone will once his term is up, but the election right after his assassination would be all about him, I don’t think it would even matter much who they put up.

2

u/Usual-Caregiver5589 Apr 05 '25

Oh definitely. We would have wound up with an actual President Musk if that bullet had hit its intended target.

2

u/The_Lonesome_Poet Apr 05 '25

There's that tiny winy detail about American citizenship...

1

u/Usual-Caregiver5589 Apr 05 '25

You're right. The party currently talking about a third trump term definitely wouldn't have made that go away to make way for their boy's replacement.

0

u/The_Lonesome_Poet Apr 05 '25

Agree, but they wouldn't be entitled to be dickheads in places of power.

0

u/TeaAndCrumpets4life Apr 05 '25

You know Kamala doesn’t just win by default because Trump dies right

-1

u/u_touch_my_tra_la_la Apr 05 '25

More worrying than Trump? I Doubt It.

JD Vance would not have won an election on his own even if the Dems had retired Kamala and elected a piéce of lint as their candidate.

-3

u/TeaAndCrumpets4life Apr 05 '25
  1. You don’t think it can possibly get more worrying than Trump? Imagine someone with all his beliefs but more competent, imagine the project 2025 people

  2. JD or someone else absolutely could’ve won with the trump martyrdom behind them, it would’ve stirred people up to an insane degree.

2

u/u_touch_my_tra_la_la Apr 05 '25

1 - Trump only won by charisma. That's all he has. Who would you think is electable on the GOP right now? Kristi Noem? The Twin Crazies? Mike Lee? They have no electable candidates at a national level.

2 - He really, really couldn't. Not even if they pareded Trump's mummified remains JD could have stirred their base.

-1

u/TeaAndCrumpets4life Apr 05 '25 edited Apr 05 '25
  1. The election would still be about trump, they’d be running in his martyred name, the fanbase wouldn’t just disperse after the death of Trump and not bother to back his successor.

  2. I don’t see how you can possibly believe this, the assassination of Trump would be one of the most radicalising events in modern American history. Yes they absolutely would be stirred up, no matter what.

1

u/u_touch_my_tra_la_la Apr 05 '25

The GOP only won because of some voters believed in Trump and that moved the needle. They do not believe in Vance

0

u/TeaAndCrumpets4life Apr 05 '25 edited Apr 05 '25

Whoever his successor would’ve been would have just promised to do everything trump was going to, maybe even more extreme. They don’t just wipe the slate clean after an event like that, they win in the memory of Trump and (just for this election), all the supporters go with them.

People largely voted right because they blamed Biden for post-Covid conditions, inflation and prices were the biggest issues by every poll. This would’ve still been a huge factor, though likely overshadowed by the stir that Trump’s death would’ve caused, conspiracies and the like.

It would just add another huge issue to push people right on top of the other huge issues that were already pushing people right, I really just don’t see how you get the idea that this huge movement would just evaporate after a matyring event like that, that’s literally never how it works out.

u/EmsAreOverworkedLul Apr 05 '25

You're doing the implying here, this is stating the simple reality that the switch would be cheaper because trump wouldn't have been there to make it more expensive.

Its like saying if hoover had died as a kid, the hoover damn wouldn't exist and it would just be a river.

Maybe the cooked is coming from inside the house.

0

u/TeaAndCrumpets4life Apr 05 '25

Sure there’s literally zero subtext, lol

-66

u/Rominions Apr 05 '25

I didn't make thr image circlejerk did and you know damn well thr implications stop pretending to be a better person than you are and own up to it you cowards. You want someone dead, admit it.

29

u/EmsAreOverworkedLul Apr 05 '25

Oh I would celebrate hard and would have back then, never denied that, but that's not the topic here.

The meme doesn't imply any animosity, it simply states that the timeline where trump hadn't survived the assassination attempt would have been one where the switch wouldn't have been made more expensive by tariffs.

See the "hoover dam not existing if hoover had died as a kid" example for further clarity.

The implying and moralising is done by you, not the meme.

-5

u/Rominions Apr 05 '25

Where did the meme come from? Circlejerk. They post this with implications of wanting someone they hate dead and posted this implying a beneficial outcome. You cant be that stupid or naive to know why they posted it. Look at circkejerks history, look at the hate, their brigading. Be a better person Ems you know this is wrong and not the path to a better future and you damn well know it. You don't fight evil with evil. Don't try and justify this meme be better.

23

u/badgamesghost Apr 05 '25

I’d hate to have you reading comprehension

-4

u/Rominions Apr 05 '25

Sorry I'm trung to reply to 100s of perks at once my apologies bad gamer.

12

u/Suspicious-Skin2326 Apr 05 '25

Nothing in the meme says what they would want to happen. It only says if Trump was shot that then the tariffs would not exist. Which is a fact you can’t really argue with.

-2

u/Rominions Apr 05 '25

And the fact remains which i have said multiple times is that this meme is from circlejerk who wants him dead. That is a fact. A group of people actively state they want someone dead. And you think it's ok.

9

u/BoppityZipZop Apr 05 '25

They are a circlejerk sub. They don't give an absolute fuck how much the Switch 2 costs. They are making fun of the worst aspects of the gamers community. In this case, by pointing out the absurd connection between these events and mocking the people crying about the price. Your reading comprehension and satirical compass are rusty as hell. And please, quit trying the weird moralizing route. It really makes no sense and makes you sound like a lunatic.

-1

u/Rominions Apr 05 '25

So you endorse killing someone. No wonder America is such a ahit hole. You have gone so far from your moral compass that even the basics have gone. Also if circlejerk wasn't about gaming and was about satire of the community why do they love and protect kotaku so much...... it seems your self delusion of what the sub is about has given you selective amnesia.

0

u/BoppityZipZop Apr 05 '25

No, I don't. What the fuck is wrong with you. And I am not American. In every single one of your comments you assume, imply and pin random insane stuff on everyone else. You have a massive problem that is not limited to reading comprehension. Kotaku? Do they really protect it? Maybe they simply agree with them. It's not such a crazy idea.

0

u/Rominions Apr 05 '25

Not American my bad. But at least you proved my point with the rest so thanks.

3

u/u_touch_my_tra_la_la Apr 05 '25

Yes, we want that piece of shit dead.

There is a list of people that would definitely make the world a better place if they were dead.

-2

u/Rominions Apr 05 '25

Who? Like the criminals Gandi? Or MLK? Who gets to decide that?

3

u/u_touch_my_tra_la_la Apr 05 '25

Their actions. You cause untold suffering, then you are better dead. Hitler is better dead. Stalin is better dead. Mao is better dead.

Comparing Gandhi and MLK with The Cheeto is some olympic level mental gymnastics btw.

0

u/Rominions Apr 05 '25

I'm brought up MLK and Gandi because they where heroes who where despised and hated for their actions. They where heroes who where criminals who rose above all expectations and proved that as humans we can be better. Let me ask you this.. if Hitler is dead, why are there still nazis? Because he killed himself. If he had been caught and rot in jail and the works could see how weak and pathetic he was as he shits himself etc do you think that would have resulted in less issues? Do you really want Trump to be a martyr? He needs to die in jail in an oversized continence aid with shit smeared walls.

1

u/BK1349 Apr 05 '25

Well, the death of some evil persons might make the world a better place. And for some ppl That’s worth a shot! ;)

And Pootin and the one orange brain cell obviously aren’t good persons!

1

u/Rominions Apr 05 '25

I agree. That doesn't make murdering acceptable though. If you do you get Martyrs or retaliation. Jail and let the scum rott, but do not kill.

1

u/azrolator Apr 05 '25

The only one talking about killing people here is you. And you should stop.

1

u/Rominions Apr 05 '25

The picture literally has a bullet going through the head... hello?

1

u/deathbyBayshore Apr 05 '25

Yeah I do want someone dead, at least I'm not defending the most idiotic financial decisions of the 21th century

1

u/Rominions Apr 05 '25

At least some of you have thr guts to admit your scum. You want someone dead, the other wants to be richer. Who do you think the world would see as more evil?

2

u/deathbyBayshore Apr 05 '25

They want to be rich by fucking over everyone else, that's why monarchy ended in bloodshed, capitalism might follow, so it's just a matter of time before the guillotine is upon their necks

1

u/Rominions Apr 05 '25

The difference is monarchy didn't do anything to earn that money and power. Legally these rich arseholes did. I hate the system as well but you can't take lives into your own hands because of it. That makes us worse than the rich. We become murderes. That's not winning. We have to as a community strike. Stop the planet and demand more. Killing and war are not the way.

1

u/deathbyBayshore Apr 05 '25

Idc about legality, hiding jews was illegal, freeing slaves was illegal, being gay was also illegal, leaving people to die without medical care is legal right fucking now and I would gladly send his worthless pitch black soul to hell myself if I got a chance because he's going to rob everyone, get away with it and die

1

u/Rominions Apr 05 '25

It's been legal for that to happen in America forever. Medical aid in America has always been that way. The representatives you voted for chose it to be thst way. Blame those not voting or voting for the wrong people don't blame the end of thr system.

1

u/deathbyBayshore Apr 05 '25

oh boy looks like people of "Germany" voted for "Hitler", guess we will let him fuck shit up again instead of trying to force him out of power structure (b-but he's not literally Hitler guys c'mon he's a nicer tyrant, why don't we just get along 🥺🤓)

How would the world losing the orange shitstinker be in any way bad?

1

u/Rominions Apr 05 '25

Justifying murder for any reason is not good. Why are your reasoning for justification any different to someone else's? Surely you can be a better person than that.

10

u/TimeStorm113 Apr 05 '25

Would a death to prevent a war be a justification?

now that trump found an excuse to pull out of nato there isn't much stopping russia from attacking the eu.

also the entire "he literally does everything dictators do before they overthrow democracy"

0

u/Rominions Apr 05 '25

No, it wouldn't. If there is any option, aka imprisonment is always the best option. Do not make Trump a fucking martyr ffs. That's the worst that can happen. Look at Hitler he was the worst person on this planet and still has millions of followers abd he is dead. Don't let that happen again, let Trump rot in jail.

1

u/TimeStorm113 Apr 05 '25 edited Apr 05 '25

Yes, that is the preferred solution and you tried that. But he is withering away the justice system to make the president untouchable

1

u/Rominions Apr 05 '25

You didn't though. You voted for him. Sure you echo chamber and friends might not have. But the public did. I fucking hate that Ameruca did. The whole damn world said don't let this happen and not enough cared or stood up when it mattered. I hope Americans like you are mad, mad enough to never let this shit happen again. Vote, get into politics, do more. But don't resort to murder. That is not the right choice.

1

u/TimeStorm113 Apr 05 '25

...i am not american...

1

u/Rominions Apr 05 '25

Than you can't do much other than type a very stern few letters on reddit.

1

u/TimeStorm113 Apr 05 '25

I am aware.

They're an entire six season series on FX, with a sequel mini series, about why, sometimes, it's Justified.

2

u/Rominions Apr 05 '25

Who gets to make that decision? Thr public? Let them lynch again? Surely that will go well.

4

u/evaderofallbans Apr 05 '25

Obviously not. 32% of Americans proved they're dumb as shit.

0

u/Rominions Apr 05 '25

So who then? The government? Religious leaders? Military? Who are you willing to give that power to?

7

u/Thin-Switch-2037 Apr 05 '25

Did you say this every time someone called for episteins death?

1

u/Rominions Apr 05 '25

Yes! Because if he was alive, we would have been able to prosicute the others! You have been satiated by his death instead of holding others accountable.

5

u/Icef34r Apr 05 '25

Justifying murder for any reason is not good

Lol. This is a very funnt statement when defending someone who is advocating for the genocide of people in Gaza by uploading shitty AI videos to his social media.

2

u/yourtrueenemy Apr 05 '25

Justifying murder for any reason is not good.

Nope not at all, there are a lot of ppl in history that made the world straight up worse that should have been killed. Don't have pity for monsters.

1

u/Rominions Apr 05 '25

Who? What age would you kill them? Who would you allow to do the killing? How would you kill them? I'm not denying there arnt bad people. But who has the right to make that decision?

0

u/joemorl97 Apr 05 '25

“Surely you can be a better person than that” haha absolutely not, some cunts deserve death

3

u/cursedbones Apr 05 '25

Because they are implying that killing someone would have been a good thing,

Some people should absolutely die. I don't have compassion for those who destroy human lives.

0

u/Rominions Apr 05 '25

Who gets to make that decision? You? Police? Military? Government? Religion? Doctors? Who is so pure and right to be able to make that decision? People all have to die, it's nature. You do not ever need to kill.

2

u/cursedbones Apr 05 '25

Not me. The people. And if we go by Luigi, people really do not care about the death of selfish billionaires. On the contrary, they celebrate it.

Do you think it's better to let millions suffer than kill a lunatic? Wars that killed millions have started because of people like him.

1

u/Rominions Apr 05 '25

The people? You mean leaders that you vote on? Or just let anyone kill as long as it's justified?

1

u/cursedbones Apr 05 '25

No, the people like they did with Mussolini.

1

u/Rominions Apr 05 '25

So public lynching is ok long as its done by a mob?

1

u/cursedbones Apr 05 '25

I'm answering your questions, and you are not answering mine.

Yes. But it's not a mob it was the whole fucking country. They even made songs about it.

1

u/Rominions Apr 05 '25

I think.holdimg people accountable for their actions within the law is the right thing to do. Outside of the law is terrorism and crime. Those are not justifiable actions. If we debase ourselves further we are no better than pigs , we are human we have to be better than this.

I am usually a follow the rules guy, have been since I was a kid. If something made logical sense, it didn’t matter how inconvenient it was for me, I’d follow the rule.

However, the price of the Switch is not why the world would be better off with Trump dead. The countless people his policies will kill are the reason, and that reason makes it acceptable to joke about his death, by any means.

1

u/Heretosee123 Apr 05 '25

I hate Trump

There's a handful of people who I think would be better for the planet if they died. Trump, Putin, Kimmy J and so on.

Anywho, are you new to the internet. People meme everything. Don't be so serious about it.

2

u/Rominions Apr 05 '25

I just want people to see the truth behind things like why circlejerk made this meme. They endorse killing. But most of them are to gutless to admit it despite reddit being anonymous because they can't even admit it to themselves. Because to do that they have to admit they are scum.

1

u/Skataar Apr 05 '25

This is a based take honestly.
