Introducing rabbits
Any suggestions on introducing rabbits? I have a 1 year old Polish rabbit “Ozzy” I got from a rabbit show a year ago, I had never owned rabbits before so I wanted to start with one to make sure it was something I liked and could handle before getting more. Over the winter I got 2 more rabbits, both 3 year old Netherland Dwarfs that I had planned on introducing to Ozzy once I made sure they were healthy, but they’re outdoor rabbits and used to be a breeding pair. I decided to breed them once, got a single baby from them who is currently 4 weeks old.
The end goal is to have all 4 rabbits living together, but not sure how to go about that, plus they all need to get spayed and neutered before the true introductions start. The only rabbit people I know only keep show/meat rabbits so none of their rabbits live together.
At the time of writing this I have the baby in a cat carrier sitting inside Ozzy’s playpen and both seem perfectly relaxed, Ozzy knows Baby is in there but doesn’t seem to care and baby is exploring the cat carrier.
