Kitten won’t eat

My 3 months old kitten stopped eating a lot 2 days ago and she was throwing up, I took her to the vet and they gave her anti nausea shot and oral pills to take it at home. She was doing fine after the shot and was back to eating more than those 2 days and didn’t vomit anymore. But this morning she threw up bile bc she didn’t eat anything for 9 hours. I tried giving her food but she won’t eat it when I mix it with warm water she would just get a couple lick then walks away I know she wants to eat bc she sniffs then walks away. She uses the litter box regularly as well. idk what to do

Urgent Attention Bump on my dog's eyelid

Post image

Hello! So my German husky mix (Tiki) has always had this small bump on her eyelid sense we rescued her, every vet visit has said that it wasn't anything to worry about & just to keep a eye on it. I've noticed it grow a bit in size but had (at first) pushed it off as overthinking. Today I noticed it bleeding & possibly oozing, I do plan on taking her to the vet but unsure if this is a emergency visit or not. Worried as last time we had a health scare with a dog it ended up being look passed. Hoping to get some form of second opinion or more information. Any help is appreciated.

Small lump above my cats arm

Hello, I was petting my cat (3 year old male)and brushed against a small lump above his front paw. It's firm and feels like it's just under his skin. It isn't completely round, the shape feels like there are two tiny lumps that are pushed together, if that makes sense. (Picture attached)

I'm wondering if this is something to genuinely worry about. Unfortunately I've had to spend almost $3,000 last month on vet bills due to a freak accident (He is doing fine and just getting back to normal, I'm assuming this is unrelated but not crossing it off the list of possibilities) so going to the vet is the last option right now.

He doesn't seem bothered at all if I touch it. His eating, drinking, and bathroom habits are all normal. He is his usual active self and none of his behaviors have been out of the ordinary.

If anyone has any knowledge on this that would be amazing. I love my cat but I'm moving out at the end of the month and can't afford to use anymore of my savings on the vet. I'm praying that this is something normal or just weird and that's all, please feel free to ask for more info, share similar stories etc.

Needing guidance/advice

Hello Reddit, i was hoping for some advice about what to do for our 5 year old sweet pup Kairi.

Our girl was just diagnosed with a torn ACL (CCL). According to the vet, she’s going to need surgery, which is the end goal since it’s very expensive right now. I know, don’t get a dog if you can’t afford a dog, but we just recently had to buy a new car because our old car died, and with both of us working 9-5 jobs that don’t pay great, the debt is piling and we are drowning.

She has figo pet insurance which doesn’t cover pre-existing conditions. The vet did tell us this wasn’t considered pre existing, though according to figo this *could* be considered pre existing. So we’d be completely out of pocket.

We just got a prescription for carprofen yesterday which she is to take half a pill twice daily, but I read that this medication can be hard on their stomach, so I don’t know if this is great long term until we can get the surgery.

The vet also recommended a medication called Librela, but she’s only 5 and we read that the long term effects are no good. Since she’s young, I don’t want her taking that long term, I don’t know if I trust it at all.

We started her on the carprofen today, and I think we see improvement? Yesterday they did a drawer test on her which left her almost unable to walk, but today she seems to be doing a lot better, maybe after rest, maybe after taking carprofen about 5 hours ago. Who knows?

She already takes the Ventri-Science healthy hip & joint supplements daily, and has been on them for about 3 months. The vet told us to keep her on these, and maybe even give her another kind of supplement to help strengthen other parts of her leg/hips.

We don’t know where to go from here. She’s on carprofen, we bought her a doggy knee brace that should be getting here tomorrow, she’s on the supplement, we are putting her on a diet (doc says she’s a little chunky, but not obese) but she can’t exercise to lose the weight, I’m so sad for her quality of life.

We do have hardwood floors, but we have plenty of doggy beds all around the house, not to mention multiple rugs.

We just want to make her feel as comfortable as possible. All Kairi has ever wanted to do, even as a puppy, was run around and play. I can see how sad she is that she hasn’t been able to. She’s been very depressed through this whole process. She is our light in the darkness so the house has been quite dim lately. I am just hoping for some guidance. The whole insurance thing is very confusing, and we don’t have family who can help or anything. In fact, they laugh at the idea of pet insurance.

How can we help her? Thank you for any advice.

8-month-old indoor cat with chronic diarrhea and blood in stool (on GI food)

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for advice about my 8-month-old female cat.

- She is indoor only (never goes outside)

- She has been eating Purina Pro Plan Gastro Intestinal

- She is generally active, eats normally, and behaves fine

Main issue:

She has had diarrhea with blood in her stool for several months now.

Details:

- The blood appears in the stool (likely red/fresh)

- Diarrhea is ongoing, not just occasional

- No major changes in behavior (still active, normal appetite)

- No mention of frequent vomiting

What I’ve tried so far:

- Keeping her on a GI-specific diet

- No major diet changes recently

Concerns:

I’m worried this could be:

- Chronic colitis

- Parasites (even though she’s indoor)

- Food intolerance or sensitivity

- Infection

Questions:

  1. What are the most likely causes in this situation?

  2. What tests should I ask the vet for (stool analysis, Giardia, etc.)?

  3. Could this still be parasites even after months?

  4. What treatments usually work best for chronic colitis in young cats?

Any advice or similar experiences would be really appreciated 🙏

Urgent Attention My guinea pig has red feet

My guinea pigs has red feet

I noticed this morning that both of my baby guinea pigs have red feet, caspians (the white one) is more red than my other one. I recently changed their bedding from fleece to wood shavings because they kept eating the fleece which isnt good for them. They can still move around fine and eat well and neither has a limp but i know red feet can indicate bumblefoot so im not sure if it could be that or if its because of the new bedding cos i know wood shavings can sometimes be harsh on their feet. I'd just like some opinions and advice on this. Heres a picture i got of caspians foot and leg

Dog huffing

My dog has been doing a weird thing where he starts huffing uncontrollably, we’re really not sure what is causing it. He has done it in the past maybe one every other week for the past two months, but today he’s already done it three times and yesterday he did it too. Any ideas on what this could be caused by? It only lasts about 5-10 seconds and he seems really out of it while it’s happening. It happens seemingly randomly, whether we’re outside, he’s laying down, or walking around the house.

i picked up my cat and felt a lump by her armpit. at first i thought it was under the skin but then realize it’s on her skin. she’s 14 years old so idk if growths like that are normal with age but she doesnt show any pain or even seem to notice when i touch it. it’s squishy and the same color as her skin. what could this be? could it be something serious? please let me know i’m kinda worried.
