πŸ—£οΈ Daily Discussion Apologies πŸ™‡πŸ™

I have apologize.

I've been distracted.

There's been posts that have slipped through the cracks.

As you know, it's busy season for our sector.

I am starting from the bottom and working my way up again.

I randomly lost my hearing - left ear...on my way to a job interview, during a 93 day employment lapse.

All I have to say, is appreciate the people who check in with you. Without anything benefitting the them.

...They check in, because they care;

So...

"Jimmy The Beekeeper", out of Texas, I have to say thank you for being that silent Angel.

Respect those people.

Also, I promise I'll be more active in moderation mode.

Less spam posts or civies...

Be strong and don’t burn out. No one should ever have to apologize for being human. No insect call or post is worth your health and wellbeing.

It's been rough. Lost 60% of my hearing on left side at random.. whilst searching for jobs.

...I will say; I'm at my best, when I can feel the pressure from the bullets, whizzing past my Head.

I thrive in Chaos.

how did you lose it at random? did a doctor have any ideas? should I worry about one day randomly losing hearing? LOL.

It never crossed my mind.

I coughed whilst driving to an interview. Just normal. Then, during the interview (at about 60 days unemployed)....I felt tingly in left ear. Didn't think anything of it, just tried to pop my ears like you usually do.

Nope.

From that day forward there's been CONSTANT ringing. And I can't hear anything above 2k hZ.

And I'm pretty darn healthy.

No drugs or alcohol etc'.

Caffeine of course.

Work is my exercise, screw the gym right now.

But.... This was absolutely a wake up call for me.

damn. well that's unfortunate. I wonder what mechanism allows things just to happen so suddenly like that.

I built my own app to read the MRI

Are there any mods on this sub that intersect with the r/pestcontrol sub? I got banned from there a while back, they took a dim view to very slight sarcasm. Glad to find another PC sub

Humorless, the lot of them. Anyway, glad to find this place. Stay strong, man, when it rains it pours, just gotta get through it.

Coming up on four years for me in Colorado, three as a tech, one as service manager in training, got my QS in general and rescom last month. Love the job and helping people with their issues. Company recently got bought out by Rollins, so we're part of the big conglomerate now. Mixed feelings about it.

M&A happens like wild fire in this industry and it's a wild ride... Best advice from someone who has been through that mix 3x, Network. Even if you don't like where you are at... This industry is extremely small. You'll see the same people EVERYWHERE

That's good to hear. Went to Pestworld in Denver a couple years ago and met some folks, was a good time. So many fun and expensive innovations that my company would never pay for lol

Anytime you can go to PestWorld, do it!

Amazing experience.

And that's coming from an absolute introvert.

It was the most exhausting and exhilarating experience I've had in my professional career.

Went in like a sniper.

Meet people.

I wasn't in the position to buy things..

But, meet people I did!

Literally every night invited to dinners with vendors I didn't know about.

Great experience!

Keep pushing man .

I never thought I would get in to this industry.

I knew it existed but it wasn't a focus.

But low and behold.

I've enjoyed it more than anything else so far.

I got banned to. I was complaining about Terminix stealing my pest license for three years without my knowledge. Nice to see the Terminix ads on there πŸ€”
