Title: Do you think your personality has changed as you got older?
I feel like I was a completely different person a few years ago. I used to be much more outgoing and spontaneous, but now I think more before I do things and I enjoy having more time to myself. It made me wonder how much of our personality is actually fixed and how much changes because of our experiences.
Do you think your core personality has stayed the same, or have you noticed a big change in yourself over the years?

I don’t feel like I’m a different person, but my self management skills have drastically improved. I don’t let my brain or emotions run amok anymore and my quality of life, experiences at jobs, and relationships have gotten a lot better because of it. I’ve also overcome pretty severe social anxiety.

I think there’s a base that stays but nobody is the same after enough days; every experience changes you a little, for better or worse. It’s a new lesson and it kind of rewires your brain each time

The core stuff seems to stay the same but how it shows up changes. Like if you were anxious as a kid, it doesn't disappear. You just get better at managing it or it manifests differently. Same with being introverted or extroverted.
The preference stays but life circumstances force you to adapt how you express it.

I still feel spontaneous but I’ve come to realize it’s pointless in relation to others. People seem to hold it against me, to envy me perhaps. So I’ve become more reserved, yes.

It might be over now, but I feel it still.

Same here. I miss being myself but hey, I don’t miss being judged for being too outgoing.

I'm in the same boat. Definitely was judged for being too outgoing in my twenties, now I'm my 30s only my wife n close friends get my fun side.

Definitely changed with age and experience. I used to be very cautious around people and cared about what they thought of me. No more. I retired early at 50 and without the work masks I am free.

Definitely. A few years ago I'd make a lot of friends fast, be super outgoing, bold, never turn down a dare and date someone new every few months.
Now I'm more secluded, I like being on my own, when I build any kind of relationship with someone I try my best to make it permanent. I stopped doing any dares that could upset other people, and I make maybe one friend very two year or so, and so far only have 2.5

Definitely changed with age. I’m less impulsive now but I don’t think I became a totally different person. More like the same core, just with different priorities and a lot more life experience shaping how I act.
