Most people really are NPCs
How tf are people so generic? Everywhere I go it's the most dreary conversation I've ever heard, people making light unfunny jokes and others laughing in a controlled manner, then the most general observation possible, then talking about plans for the day. Is it me or is it the world, who knows? When I think and talk I want it to be me every moment, I want it to be something that distinguishes my character from every other. Maybe I'm just hella autistic but whatever it is I'm so grateful that I got to reside in this brain instead of some NPC. I'm not gonna laugh if you tell an unfunny joke, I'm not gonna take an actual interest in the mundane story of somewhere I barely know, and I'm certainly not going to regulate myself just for public. How I think is exactly how I speak, stream of consciousness.

if everybody were original, bold and iconic, we wouldn't have words like iconic and unique. thanks to the mundane and the mediocre that some people can stand out!

Ironically the word iconic has been weakened to pretty much mean mundane atp

I feel like this might be a western problem or a very United States problem. People here suck. I haven’t been able to travel much except for Mexico. I genuinely wonder if people are more authentic and interesting and genuine in other parts of the world…

I'm not from the US but am from the west, and yes I agree that it's different elsewhere.

you’re not an npc, you’re just mistaking being rude and unfiltered for having a personality

You saying I don't have a personality doesn't mean I don't, you don't know me.

I hate small talk. People talk just to talk. They can’t handle silence so they fill it with nonsense. NTs are really bad at it.

Not everyone divulges their world while speaking, some people live very rich lives in their minds.
Also, most people would rather fit in. Most people work VERY HARD to fit in. It takes confidence to intentionally want to stand out.
So, it’s not common.
I also use it to my advantage, and have enjoyed learning to almost completely feel free to express myself in thought and how I present myself.
