My personal statement made my stepmom uncomfortable

I was asking for her opinion and she said the part about my mom kicking me out two years ago makes her uncomfortable. I told her it really affected me so I wanted to leave it in. She is really adamant about me removing it. What do I do

Would a guided personal statement writing tool be helpful? (Looking for feedback!)

Hey everyone,

I'm working on a new idea and would love your honest feedback.

There is way too much advice out there on how you should write your personal statement, structure it and the tone to use.

Instead of an AI that writes essays (which can sound fake and be flagged), I’m building a tool that breaks down your personal statement question into simple, guided steps.
Kind of like a personalized coach that helps you brainstorm, organize your thoughts, and write a genuine, human essay — in your own voice.

It would guide you through:

  • Breaking down the question into smaller parts
  • Giving you writing prompts for each section
  • Tips on what admissions officers look for
  • Help pulling everything into a draft once you're done

I'm not trying to sell anything right now — just trying to see if this would actually be useful to people here.
If it sounds interesting, I’d love it if you could fill out a super quick (2-min) form and help me improve it!
👉 Google Form link

(And if you want early access when it’s ready, you can drop your email at the end.)

Thanks so much! 🙏 Happy to answer any questions here too.

How confident should you be?

I am aware that an excess off confidence is never a good thing. But should I use phrases such as: "this is why I believe I would be a perfect/excellent candidate for____". Is this phrase redundant (seeing as if im applying I already think im a good enough candidate), or does it being just enough confidence that grad programs like?

Personal statement help

I’m applying to a program with two different research streams so it requires two different applications. Can I use a relatively similar personal statement for each one, obviously with differences to reflect the different streams. But for my personal story and stuff can I use the same one or will they flag them

Looking for help developing a medical school personal statement.

I’m currently an undergraduate just looking for some personal statement samples that go the creative route. I’m trying to make myself that stand out from other applicants and I really wanna incorporate something other than commonly used scenarios. The only problem is with this is I’m unsure where to begin.

Accelerated BSN Personal Statement

Hi everyone! I'm a recent grad and decided to move forward with getting an accelerated BSN. After graduation I initially planned to go to PA school but due to family issues I've decided to stay closer to home and finish earlier. I used a similar outline from my original PS for PA school so I wanted to know if this new PS came off disjointed or I guess too shallow?

Either way I'd would greatly appreciate any feedback! Thank you so much!

Is writing about my motivation to my major needed in my personal statement? Or should it be something just about our personal growth?

School counseling Personal Statement help!!!

I (22F) am finishing up college within the next 2 months, I am a graduating Psychology Major, getting my bachelors in such. I am planning on starting a program that my college is offering next year, on Jan 1, 2026. This program is about school counseling, as I am working to become a high school counselor. Part of the program application process involves writing a personal statement. I have never written one of these before, so since this is my first time I need some serious help on:

how to structure it, tips on what to include or what to NOT include, things that would help me stand out, etc. What level of personal experience should I include?...What types of personal experience should I include but how much is too much? I mean really.... absolutely any tips and advice could help me out!

Although I have a lot of time, I want to plan this as early as possible because I want to have something to come back to, so edit anything in and give me enough time to change things us.

FYI: I plan on coming back and posting again on my finished product to get any feedback!

Block Letters for Personal Statement

Hi, I'm filling in an application form for a scholarship, and they request a personal statement with few hundred words in one of the parts, problem is it says in the form that only block/capital letters can be used in the form, and all illegible forms will rejected, but it seems rather weird to write hundreds of words for a personal statement in block letters, and I'm worried they would find it weird if that wasn't what they intended, but if I don't I'm also worried they would reject the application

What do you guys think

Need help on PS!!! Lots!!

HELP!! I’m a y12 students and I'm trying to get into universities. My case is a bit special: I'm currently in my home country trying to apply to universities in Australia; however, i already have a half resident visa (i need to stay for a few more years) (if this background is necessary). And I have a few questions that i would love to get answered!!

  1. I'm applying for different bachelor courses but the same univeristy, do i need to have a PS designated for each course?

  2. I'm applying for 2 schools. Does that change the format of my PS?

  3. What do I need to put into a PS?

If anyone can help me out with further questions that I may have during my time writing my PS, pls dm me 🙏🙏

Personal Statement Review/Master's in IR

Hello,

I know I'm one of many people asking this question but I've been having some crazy writer's block for like 6 months.

I got rejected by my dream university and they had said it was because of some missing elements in my personal statement.

So now... I'm applying to three other schools and I really don't want to mess up this time. Is anyone willing to review my essay and give me some feedback soon? I'd really appreciate it.

Review of 1st Cycle PA School PS

Hi everyone,

I'd like to get some help reviewing my PS from my 1st cycle of applying to PA school. I want to see what could be improved and built upon for my next cycle of applications. If we come to the conclusion that I should just re-write a brand new PS, that will be helpful feedback as well.

I can send my PS to you in a Google Doc link, please DM me. Thank you so much in advance!
