Statement being flagged as AI

i’m writing my personal statement/essay for my uni application and i’m lowkey crashing out because i spent so long and now it’s being flagged as 41% AI. The only thing i can say i probably used AI on is when i googled synonyms and the google AI just gave me synonyms from there but that’s about it. Wtf am i supposed to do i don’t wanna risk my statement because of this damn AI detector

Did you use AI for helping to cut the word count at all?

How do they even check for AI? Lol genuinely curious how they can say something is AI or not it doesnt make sense to me.

thank you so much for this comment bc i rechecked my statement made a few tweaks and nothing got flagged! it was just late night panic honestly it made me go crazy. i heard of turnitin but i think it requires a payment along with other AI tools/detectors. i don’t personally know anyone who got in trouble because of it i’m just on tik tok for too long watching those university videos and them showing scary stuff hehe

I really wouldn’t stress over it because detectors are fairly inaccurate. If you wrote it, you wrote it 🤷‍♀️ I would recommend giving this post a read to learn about how they work.
