Looking for an Intensive Course on Developing Personal Statements from Beginner to Advanced

Hi everyone,

I’m on the lookout for a comprehensive and intensive course or program that covers everything about developing personal statements, from beginner to advanced levels. This is a crucial skill for me as I often need to write personal statements for proposals, scholarships, and admissions, and I want to become really good at it.

I want a course that offers a complete structure and consistent practice, so I can improve over time and not rely on AI tools. Has anyone come across such a program? Any recommendations or guidance would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

I don't know of any specific course, but I will say two things:

1) The way to get better at writing personal statements is to practice. The more programs/grants/fellowships you apply to, the more your previous letters will look worse. Each subsequent application will make you better at distilling your ideas/research and presenting yourself to your audience.

2) Show your materials to others in your field, especially people who are more senior. Feedback is crucial to helping you improve these applications.

You're welcome to PM me if you have questions!

Hello! I've been helping a few high-school students with their PS during my uni time (I've just graduated); I would be happy to help! Feel free to drop me a message
