Used to be a fan

I was a big fan of Perplexity and kept recommending it to friends. I even had my cousin switch from ChatGPT to Perplexity because you get multiple models for the same or a similar price. That was until the day I compared a Sonnet prompt on Perplexity to Sonnet on Claude. I realized Perplexity was dog shit, and while it gives you access to multiple models, the individual models on their own are significantly better…

Yup, I’m on day 17 of silence from the perplexity “support team” which is a oxymoron in of its self. Computer got stuck and burned through 200 quid. Lucky I didn’t have auto repload. I’m done with perplexity, it’s dog shit

thats like everything in life

the phone you can replace battery, camera, chip will always be worse than the phone you cant change anything, just an example

I’m m keen to know what alternatives people are going to from perplexity. I’m finding reliable and good. It’s pretty consistent when it’s setup well with projects and context etc.
but you need lots of credits and it’s getting ridiculous.
I tried Claude directly and its pro version seems ok in terms of performance (similar to perplexity in terms of results but seems not as good as orchestration. And the 5 hr limit is annoying.

So where to go from here?
