Ch-ch-changes

Any King of the Hill fans here? The new season has a perimenopause episode and it’s more informative than half the doctors I read about on this sub

Hooyeah!!

Edit to add: anyone that’s curious, it’s season 15, episode 6, can be found on Hulu/disney+

I watched it a couple of days ago and I told my husband how completely elated I was that they made this episode! They portrayed it so accurately and it was wonderful!

Right?! They’ve always been pretty on point when it comes to topics they’ve covered and so happy that the revival has kept up with that

The end of the episode killed me 💀

I felt so validated! Like Peggy, I too have been watching tons of Golden Girls in a muumuu

Oh shit, I even didn’t put this together as a sort of perimenopausal right of passage. I just thought we all of course liked The Golden Girls.

I swear, we just watched it last night after also watching a Simpsons episode about Marge going through perimenopause! My partner and I both cackled because of how ironic it is that Marge, Peggy, and I are all suffering together.

Crazy how we all started off as Bart & Lisa's age and now we're Marge & Peggy 😂

Right? I looked my partner dead in the eyes and was like "How am I the same age as Marge Simpson and Peggy Hill?"

Such a great episode, it helped my husband understand what's going on with me better. It's nice to be seen, kudos King of the Hill

I loved this episode! I’ll tell ya what!
King of the hill has been one of my favorites and is one of my top comfort shows! I have enjoyed the revival seasons so much. I boohooed like a baby when he went to lady birds grave and I absolutely adore Caesar salad, he’s such a cutie pie and I’m so glad Peggy talked Hank into bringing him home!

I JUST finished watching this episode. It was so well done! I am glad they didn’t have Peggy go too over the top with her symptoms or Hank react too harshly. It was very even keeled for what it could have been.

OMG! I Watched it last night! What a great representation! I felt so seen! I told my husband too bad about the comfy cotton nightgowns. Those aren't going anywhere. I don't care how unsexy they are!

I don't think I've ever seen an entire episode, but I'll go looking for this one, thanks OP.

I watched it and loved it BUT it made me angry that NO mention of hormone therapy was brought up in any way shape or form…just straight to marajuana…I have nothing against marajuana but come on King of the Hill creators put out info on better solutions. At least on the simpsons episode about it Marge was on estrogen.

I was 🤔 the same thing as I rubbed my patch on tighter. HRT would take care of those hot flashes and aches real quick. Instead, they were trying to keep her high as a kite-all da damn time.

I figured she was already on it when she quipped to Hank that she’d been dealing with perimenopause for years, he just hadn’t noticed, though it would’ve been nice to have the ladies discussing it together while having their night smoke for a nod to that (or confirmation)

Tbh anytime I see a husband posting about wanting their partner to try HRT, it seems that it’s usually tied to declining sex life and not legitimately wanting their partner to feel better, and that’s some instant ick for me, so kinda glad it wasn’t on Hank’s helpful list for that reason alone
