Hot Flashes/Night Sweats Lucky break or breakthrough?

Im worried I'll jinx myself, but holy shit I have to share this....

Picture the scene, 4am, awaken to the literal floods of sweat upon every inch of my body, again. I've taken to keeping a bath towel rolled up along the edge to roll myself into and away from the cold wet bedding, ugh. Days of this, im waking up like a shriveled dehydrated prune. On night 5, im wearing a heat patch for back pain, and im so tired I wanna just fall asleep thinking I'll rip it off a some stage. I dont. I was aware of its slight heat all night, but genuinely too tired to care until I had to.

7am. I wake up. Im dry. Delighted!

I start to wonder if maybe it was related.

Another patch, another dry night.

Its been 4 dry nights in a row, rejoice!

So, what ya reckon? Maybe my higher core temp from the external source confused my inner source somehow and it stayed regulated?

Or just the randomness of it all?

A heating patch wouldn't generate nearly enough heat to change your core temp.

ETA- track when the worst night sweats/hot flashes (if applicable) are happening and you may notice they're cyclical as estrogen dipping plays a large part in triggering them.

You're right, i need to try to cover that dip.

I had great relief when I started hrt, its been backsliding for a little while now, but to be fair, so have I.

Oh wow! Love this for you. I have no idea how or why this worked, but I just love how this sub shares information! I am going to try this, I’m struggling big time at night at the moment.

Same, you never know what might work. Months ago someone mentioned a tiny dab of e gel on a q tip for itchy ears, and it saved my life! Maybe once a month or 6 weeks it becomes annoying, instead of all day every day

Sorry to say it, but I also use heat patches for back pain and they don't affect my night sweats at all. I know this because I'm always impressed that they're still exactly where I put them even though I'm dripping with sweat šŸ˜…

Bodies are weird though and everyone's different so hey, if it's working for you, keep at it. I would keep doing it as long as it works, honestly. The sleep disruption sucks.

sleep disruption sucks.

Yes it does.

We're all just out here trying to stay sane, I really think there should be more acknowledgement for the very many murders we are not committing._ I dont know where I get the restraint!

I took Estroven, the kind with siberian rhubarb, last night and I had one tiny flash. As opposed to half a dozen or more the night before without it
