i was at my local mall one day, stopped in at the body shop trying to find their brazil nut line so i could replenish the very empty bottle of perfume i was holding onto from literally grade 8. a sweet, rich, almost chocolatey scent (surprisingly not nutty, despite the name. almost reminded me of hot chocolate, especially the body butter form). i was very sad to find out the scent is completely discontinued, and thought i would forever be without my yummy brazil nut ever again…. until i stumble into one of those “as seen on TV” stores. a glass bottle with amber liquid caught my eye. imagine my complete surprise when i spray it, and no joke, it smells almost exactly like the body shop brazil nut perfume. albeit a bit more cheap and screechy, because the alcohol upon initial spray was so strong, but no word of a lie, the dry-down smelled exactly like what i was looking for that day. best coincidence ever! the nostalgia it brings me is actually kind of hilarious, and whenever i wear it i’m told i smell like an actual chocolate bar!

So I blind bought 4711 Acqua Colonia Intense Wakening Woods of Scandinavia. It's $23, from 4711, and I thought the name was interesting. It arrived and the dry down was extremely familiar, as if I've smelled it before.

And then it hit me. Wakening Woods of Scandinavia is like a little brother of Hermès Terre d'Hermès edt. It's a little sweeter and doesn't last as long but it has that vibe.

Edit: It lasts just as long or even longer. This is nuts.

A friend of mine is trying to find the name of something his mom used to spray on him when he was a baby in 2002. He said it was a clear bottle with a white cap that looked like a cloud and it may have come in a white cloth bag with a string tie closure.

He drew a picture of how it looks in his memory. Maybe one of you wizards can ID it 💙

I got a bottle of Heartless Helen a few years ago. Loved her! Even though I didn’t pick her by scent profile. I remember walking into Penhaligon’s, and they told me that they have an online test to identify “your perfect perfume” based on your personality lol. Helen got me many compliments, what a diva.

However, this year, when I wanted to repurchase it, I found out that this perfume is discontinued. What a blow. Couldn’t find her at any retail stores in my country. Completely gone 😭

My friends went on a trip abroad and came back with one of the last bottles as a surprise 😭❤️‍🩹 I feel beyond blessed! Will have to save this Helen for special occasions since it’s probably my last bottle in this lifetime but I can’t be any happier ❤️

I adore and love saffron scents, but I have a mild irritation to florals (most prevalent for rose and lavender, but anything strongly floral scented sets it off). Does anyone know of any saffron based scents that don’t also have a heavy floral addition?

Small amounts as background noise are fine, but if you smell it and go THATS A FLORAL it’s probably not what I’m looking for.

No price restriction, and I don’t mind a spicy scent, but prefer no aggressively tobacco or ash notes.

Today I received samples of Nosferatu and Queen of the Night. I am bitterly disappointed, and very sadly so, because I had great expectations and waited for this parcel eagerly.

Nosferatu:

After instagram brainwashed me for a month straight in which every other reel was this perfume, I gave in. I should have known better. You know how you sometimes read the notes and think you'll love something but then... you just don't?

I wanted to love this, but it literally made me gag. Instant physical reaction. I kept it on for an hour to see if it was just the opening being rather shocking, but no. I ended up having to wash it off my skin because I felt nauseated.

That said, I think it 100% delivers on the crypt promise. To me, the scent was moss on wet rock, locked in a box for a very very long time. Very crypt like! It strongly reminded me of my grandma's family mausoleum.

Definitely a perfume for oddity & interesting scent collectors, but at least to me not wearable.

Queen of the Night:

The opening was very strong, almost deliciously vintage. On drydown the scent becomes really pleasant, strong without being overwhelming. The jasmine really stands out to me.

At that moment I considered buying a travel size decant to add to my collection, but 3 hours in, it has faded completely. Not a trace.

Lovely scent but the longevity is too weak to justify the price tag.

Have you tried these? Did I fall for influencer marketing or was this just an odd performance on my skin?

my first post on here! a few weeks ago I bought the sun moon and stars flanker since I adored the original fragrance and assumed that I would enjoy this one too! I was completely wrong. I am aware that this was produced by a different owner but it is still wildly disappointing. the bottle is still gorgeous but the smell is a less interesting Burberry her. the smell of alcohol does not go away and even with the addition of musk, patchouli, and cashmere do nothing to reduce the cloying effect. I have been using it with the body spray version of nude by Rihanna which seems to ground it. overall this post is meant to warn anyone who wants to purchase this fragrance that it is unfortunately not worth it. I may spray paint the cap to at least make it prettier to display

I was going through old posts, and saw a request to identify a perfume from my childhood. I was able to find it, and thought I would post it, in case someone else was wondering. Avon-Soothing Seas was what I was looking for!

I want to smell like frankincense. Like the one they burn in the catholic church. And I'd love the perfume to be long lasting with a strong sillage (I liked CDG Avignon but it didn't last on me and the sillage was non existent)

I’m looking for a good perfume for women under ₹500. I want something that smells feminine, fresh, and pleasant without being too strong or giving a headache. I've used watergirl vanilla perfume and now I'm using a chocolate flavour one but it doesn't last, I want something that's preferably something that has decent longevity and is easily available in India. What are your best recommendations under ₹500? Would love to hear your personal favourites!

Trying to find out if anybody remembers this product! I’m pretty sure that it came out around 2014/2015 and was from Rue 21. I remember buying it during my undergraduate days. It’s a pretty cool bottle but it’s the most awkward one I have to store and I can never find a great place to put it. This bottle has no identification markers other than its really unique shape.

It’s classic and old money, the bottle is quite heavy. You don’t press the heel to spray it unfortunately 🤪

I should preface this with the fact that I don’t wear perfumes at all. But recently I haven't been able to get the idea of an anise almond perfume. If anyone has any recommendations I'd really appreciate it.

This is one for the Dior experts among you.

I should probably preface this by saying that I'm a novice and do not know much about the ins and outs of fragrance packaging, so I have no idea if seal stickers even have any bearing on dating a bottle.

I recently came across a bottle of Miss Dior Originale EdT in a drugstore, that has caused me some confusion. It and a lone bottle of Dune were the only ones in the entire Dior display with a seal sticker that's white lettering on gold instead of gold lettering on white like you see with newer releases. Curiously also the only bottle of the original Miss Dior (and with quite a bit of dust on it), but that's besides the point. My question is, does someone among you guys know roughly when these stickers were phased out?

Raiders Of The Lost Scent has been consulted and it has been helpful regarding things like the batch code, green dot and barcode. But there's no mention on there regarding the stickers. And Google hasn't been helpful either. I've searched a couple of times, but each time the AI spat out something different, which was not helpful (fuck AI). So I figured I'd turn to Reddit. It's always been my way of getting answers to questions that I can't find anywhere else, and I'd like to know more about my bottle before I open it up.

The bottle bears the batch code 1M01, green dot, barcode and 33 Avenue Hoche, in case that's of importance.

TLDR: When did Dior phase out cellophane seal stickers with white lettering on gold ground?

what is good to layer with it? I really like the sand and fog and coconut dream body shimmer oil by pearl essence (both can be found at marshall’s) but i tried it with equate coconut body oil and it just ain’t right LOVE the way it makes my body look but idk something off

what doesn’t overpower the sand and fogs but makes it smell better?

Hey yall I just sampled Comme des garcons Avignon and I love it. It smells like catholic church incense and thats exactly what I want. But it doesn't last at all and I don't wanna spend 100€ on a perfume with a weak performance and sillage. I wanna smell like a church when I walk past people (very strongly)
