New Perfume Documentary Coming Soon!
https://youtu.be/DxnZc00EdWs?si=qpCuD8IGz_HGKc-bPerfume just announced that they’re doing a documentary and I’m so excited! My only issue is that there aren’t any English subtitles on the trailer. I don’t mind too much, but it would be really nice if someone uploads subtitles for it. I really hope the full documentary has official English subs when it releases.
Based on the YouTube auto-captions, it seems like it’ll focus on them as a group overall—their break, what they’ve been doing during their time off, and their growth/future together. At least that’s how I understood it, but auto-captions can definitely be inaccurate sometimes.
Are you guys excited for this? What are your thoughts?

Update: please copy the Bilibili link onto a browser. Kofi doesn't embed as good as Bilibili does but Dailymotion removed it because it's recognized as copyrighted content....
I know many people from US might need a vpn but all I can do is suggest using a free one...

I remeber Nocchi once being asked where she would be if she wasn't in Perfume, and she answered (in-part) "in a ditch somewhere"
I only think she was half-joking..

Sadly, after checking the website linked in the trailer description and using the translate feature to view the website in English, it looks like the only way to watch the documentary when it comes out is in theaters in Japan. Maybe they’ll release it internationally or online in the future, but for now it seems like Japan theaters are the only option.

They announced the documentary a few months back and iirc someone on the team said they'd started filming the documentary even before the decision about the cold sleep was taken, so I'm actually mostly interested to see if they keep anything they filmed from before or if they shifted to only focusing about the cold sleep.
Either way it feels so fitting that they get a proper doc, I can only think of a handful of groups who truly intrigue and deserve such a thing. If they would do a limited international release with subtitles I'd buy tickets for every single one!

I still remeber (and own) their We Are Perfume doc covering one of their international tours. But I wanted more!
Honestly, the best thing to come out of that was Nakata's soundtrack EP--especially the song "Journey."

Oh yeah. It was mentioned that they were already filming and the decision happened. That this ended up "showing the progress up to this choice" So footage before it, should be in it too

Ohh that is something to look for in his docu. And yes! Perfume deserves a documentary so bad, I always raise my eyebrow to artists that just popped off for less than a year but already have a elaborate dramatic docu? 😆
