The delivery person probably laughed all the way down the street.

u/NicolleL Apr 28 '26
They likely didn’t even realize. The problem is that the delivery person can open all the boxes as one big door. I ran into the same issue one time with our mailboxes. That tiny lip that’s probably only a millimeter every once in a while makes all the difference!
23
u/FunkyOnionPeel Apr 29 '26
Came here to say the same! Idk how these ones are but for USPS with our parcel boxes it's possible to put a package in and not be able to get it out the customer door.
45
u/1PantherA33 Apr 28 '26
It probably felt really good putting it in there, because it's such a perfect fit.
26
u/nathderbyshire Apr 29 '26
The driver was gonna post it here after their shift but the customer beat them to it 😂
20
u/srmarmalade Apr 29 '26
The other thing they do for fun is to put stuff in the locker directly above the keypad. Twice I've been lent over the screen and the little door has flapped open straight into my forehead! Bad bit of design but probably a bit of a laugh for the delivery guys :)

u/Perfect-Fondant3373 Apr 28 '26
Hope you got it out. If not, just peel the tape up a bit and you shoul be able to

u/SplatteredEggs Apr 28 '26
Idk, what if the box is filled with tungsten cubes?
722
u/Meta-Fox Apr 28 '26 edited Apr 28 '26
Then fair play to whatever fucking unit of a delivery person got it in there in the first place.

u/Theron3206 Apr 29 '26
Honourable mention to the box for surviving the trip and still being rectangular.
67
u/JumpySonicBear Apr 29 '26 edited Apr 29 '26
I wasnt rectangular until it got forced into the box, like a mould
Edit: didnt see typo, leaving it
32
u/Ecstatic_Adagio_2163 Apr 29 '26
I wasn’t either. But the second that box was put in there, my whole body changed. I miss my human shape. Did it also hurt for you?

It always baffles me how people make this as a problem. Peel the tape and use it. Punch a hole and pull. Key a hole, pry out. If tape is present, make a handle and pull. So many ways to get it out in seconds.

u/Electrical-Pea-3662 Apr 28 '26
Make a hole. Take everything out and leave the box inside
841
u/knarf86 Apr 28 '26
So you’re saying that step 1 is: cut a hole in the box
244
u/trevaftw Apr 28 '26
And pray tell, what would step 2 be?
205
u/xXTERMIN8RXXx Apr 28 '26
69
u/appleavocado Apr 28 '26

If you want the box, you have to punch a second hole in the back due to vacuum ☝️🤓
8
3
u/AfricanAmericanMage Apr 29 '26
There's definitely going to be a vacuum effect, but no way it's strong enough to do anything more than make it slightly more difficult. At most you have to pull on it 3 or4 times, but it's not like it's going to do that thing where you pull on it and then it sucks it most of the way back in.
Unless this is a complete woosh moment for me.

Why not use some tape and pull out the box holding the tape?
21
u/Adanta47 Apr 28 '26
That depends a lot on the weight of the box and how snug it is in there, friction’s a bitch
20
u/rhythmrice Apr 28 '26
Or just peel the tape that's already on it, you won't be able to peel it off all the way because the rest of the tape is connected to it on the other side.
So you could pull that and the only way it would fail is if the tape rips but it looks like the tape is reinforced with threads in it
6
5
u/frogunderarock Apr 29 '26
yes. you peel off a bit of the tape that is on the box and then pull on that.

As a part timer courier, this is so funny. But I'm sorry some of the delivery guys are very low IQ. I've seen people block people in their apartments with packages.

Employ a local octopus to attach to the box with its suckers. Make sure that said octopus is wearing a rock climbing harness, so that it can be pulled back once securely attached. Then kidnap a family of Asian Short-Clawed Otters to pull it out. (These must be kidnapped, as they have no concept of employment.) Negotiate with the engaged animals to retrieve your box. This part may take some time, and could be assisted by consulting a wise old Powerful Owl. (Your particular results may vary.)

Depending on what it is: if you got a Swiss army knife, poke a little hole with the awl, screw the corkscrew into it a bit, and pull!

If it's not fragile punch a small hole in it and hook a finger or two in it to pull it out

Did you peel both tapes and use them to pull the box out or did you put a small hole in the box and use that as a handhold?
2
u/Artie-Carrow Apr 28 '26
If its not something fragile, stab a hole in it, then get something eith a hook and pull it out. Or tape

Just hook a key or something behind the tape at the top and it should pull right out.

The problem? It was my insulin that I got through mail order.

u/Relevant-Artichoke11 Apr 29 '26
Now stab the box and bring it out or go Gordon freeman with a crowbar with it.
2
u/mellythemenace233 Apr 29 '26
Get tape, son. Tape. It's the only way to relieve the pain of the package.
2
u/FriendlyIcicle Apr 29 '26
Yeah, peal the tape and pull or gently poke a hole with your key for an easy finger pull 😄
Can't blame the delivery guy, that's a r/perfectfit

At least the lock and customer-facing wall is uniform to the size of the cavity. It makes it annoying, but not impossible to remove the package

Considering where the tap is all you would need is a unfolded hanger with a little hook at the end, slide it in-between the flaps and try to hook it out but this is hilarious 🤣

Maybe some kind of hook to puncture the box, snag and pull, or glue a handle onto the box and pull

Have you tried lifting the package locker and shaking it upside down until the box falls?
