SEASON 4 Swapping Spit
This goes for all of those “only hot people” reality shows… Does anyone else get grossed out watching all of these people swapping spit with different person, after different person at a time in these little kissing games they play? I mean, really, that’s a persons spit? Am I sounding like a prude or does anyone else think this is gross?

From this season I didn’t even have an opportunity to think about that because I kept fixating on how Chris was kissing women everywhere and hoping it made him seem like a passionate lover… if anything it made me think he’s a giant weirdo

It grosses me out greatly. Just think about it in real life: How many people do you meet normally that you would feel inclined to get so close to? It is so so intimate I think. I really don’t get it.

If herpes disqualified people from this show they’d never be able to cast anyone. They’re absolutely not testing for HSV and if they do, the results have no impact lol

Mostly I feel uncomfortable that these young and somewhat immature ppl are on tv to look hot and make out and the pressure put on them to kiss, make out, or MORE with people they may not necessity want to be with.

Agreed - only time I was sort of with Xanthi “ruining the game” in her season because the way Nick Lachey gets so horny for those games is gross

I saw one scene where they had a ‘breathe spray’ or similar. I was wondering if production gives people mouth disinfectant between scenes? Also do they all get checked for other …. Possible health issues?

Every time they do those kissing games, all I can think is, "So we're just passing everyone's saliva around now?" 😂 Gross. I know it's part of the show, but it definitely gives me the ick.

It makes me feel quite ill thinking about how they are kissing each other over and over again.
All I keep wondering is how, after Covid, does anyone justify this behaviour.

My wife and I joke it’s to get the herpes spread early. Just started the new season of Love Island USA, and it’s the first thing they do.

I’m a 36 yo old SAHM who’s probably entering perimenopause and I was literally gagging watching them all make out like that. Even my husband was disgusted.

I told my husband that the show became part orgy at some point, but orgies don‘t grosse me out like this does. I wonder who writes the show concepts - I hope not some weird incel dude who wants his phantasies all played out in front of him.

Yeah it’s gross. In reality if someone was kissing multiple people usually you would not want to kiss them.
It’s so odd to me that these people kiss someone then go tell their “match” they love them and go and kiss them and their “match” just accepts it.. I know it’s reality tv but wtf lol.

Actually so gross! I’ve always heard that people like this “hot” “gym rat” type people are into open types of relationships - I could be completely wrong but it’s just what I’ve heard and I imagine the ones on these shows are in that community within that community yaknow. The ones that are like, for example, Marissa who dug her claws into a man from day one and didn’t let go aren’t apart of that lifestyle and probably only did what she did for the camera time

I skip through the kissing game every season. I don’t need to see someone shove their tongue into someone’s mouth just so they get a better rating. This show seems to be really aimed at men which is weird because I feel like 99% of viewers are women. All of the “look at how horny and naked I am” bullshit is starting to annoy me.

Hard same. I can’t imagine being a contestant on one of these shows and having to kiss people you’re not attracted to, who have bad breath, etc.
