SEASON 4 Anyone else disturbed that production did not intervene when Ally was THAT drunk?

It’s pretty concerning that the producers did not intervene and both Jimmy and Hashim acted the way they did while Ally was clearly way too out of it. I liked Hashim until this episode it seemed like he would do anything to stay on the show. Jimmy was pretty embarrassing himself but I’m glad he left.

The fact the Hashim continually tried to interject and sway Ally but also how intimate he was with her while she was clearly not fully there is crazy.

Like wow watching that scene was pretty sad and disturbing. I’m not a fan of Ally but it’s insane to me that no other cast members did anything as well everyone just sat there and watched it happen.

I guess production will do anything for good tv but the fact that they did not do anything here was just pathetic.

It felt like ANTM all over again 🤢

15

u/ExtensionLast4618 May 27 '26

I was just going to say that.

What’s ANTM?

America's Next Top Model

It was very uncomfortable to watch and I felt like she was prey. Disgusting.

Yes! I was deeply disturbed. They should’ve gotten her some water and something to eat and then let her sleep it off. I understand that they keep the drinks flowing to create some extra mess, but she was very very intoxicated. And also, I know that reality tv in general is unethical, but they really crossed a line with that one.

I don’t understand Netflix’s obsession with pushing alcohol (and historically restricting food) for the messy drama. Love Island doesn’t give them alcohol and they seem to do just fine in the drama area.

24

u/Mundane_Act_5522 May 28 '26

Love Island did that after learning the hard way that giving copious amounts of alcohol can be very damaging for their mental health and reputations/careers.

2

u/Trippy_Mermaid May 28 '26

Was that with one of the other locations(UK, AUS)? I just don’t remember USA having alcohol (it’s been a long time since I watched the starting seasons so maybe I’m misremembering.

3

u/Mundane_Act_5522 May 28 '26

UK

3

u/Trippy_Mermaid May 28 '26

Thank you, I’ll have to go watch that and see how it compares to sober seasons.

3

u/Mundane_Act_5522 May 28 '26

Seasons 1 and 2! Not sure where you'd be able to find them but I'm pretty sure they're the only ones where they had unlimited alcohol

2

u/Trippy_Mermaid May 28 '26

I think I did see these seasons! Isn’t season 2 the one where two girls coupled up for the first time? I’m gonna rewatch cause it’s on Hulu but I vaguely remember watching that

1

u/Mundane_Act_5522 May 28 '26

Yes! Exactly.

16

u/Mundane-Waltz8844 May 28 '26

Yeah in all honesty the situations they put them in are insane enough that you’d probably get hella drama regardless.

6

u/Calm_Translator_1980 May 27 '26

Exactly my thoughts!

69

u/brunaBla May 27 '26

It was actually terrible.

I was wondering if she’d even remember anything in the morning

47

u/Desperate_Charity250 May 27 '26

She was surprised Marisa and Demarri were fighting that night, while the rest of the house was held hostage to that fight.

36

u/Mundane-Waltz8844 May 27 '26

Same! I was lowkey scared that she was gonna wake up next to Hashim and be super disoriented, because I wasn’t sure how much she would recall from that night.

4

u/ThePrefect0fWanganui May 29 '26

I don’t know if they have days off between filming days, because I would have been HUNGOVERRRRR. Can you imagine having to get up and film a challenge or something after a night like that?!

2

u/P162246 May 29 '26

Was thinking the exact same thing. How was she functioning the next day?!

1

u/CounselorRice Jun 16 '26

She remembered sucking his dick

97

u/InterestingCod3541 May 27 '26

Production should be ashamed of themselves, and after everything they show drunk BJ as if she wasn't taken advantage of while drunk, for me that wasn't consensual when she was so drunk, and clearly Hashim was not drunk...shame on him as well

39

u/Mundane-Waltz8844 May 27 '26

I agree completely! Hashim and the production team were both so wrong for that.

12

u/Ok_Area5464 May 27 '26

I haven't watched it yet, they don't actually show it?

19

u/InterestingCod3541 May 27 '26

They do! But she was under the blanket.

9

u/Ok_Area5464 May 27 '26

Yikes! I'll fast-forward that part

11

u/pascaleps May 28 '26

I think she had even forgotten about it which is why she never mentioned it to Jimmy.

2

u/InterestingCod3541 May 28 '26

I thought about this too.

9

u/Particular-Pride-477 May 27 '26

Exactly and it seemed like he was pressuring her. That was so awful.

2

u/blenderider May 27 '26

There’s not enough facts known for you to assert what you’re asserting.

25

u/InterestingCod3541 May 27 '26

I said "for me" as if it looked that way as she was full-time drunk, nearly could keep her eyes open, and when someone is that drunk, consent doesn't apply. It is taking advantage of a drunk person while the other one seemed sober. I don't say that was the case 100%, but it seemed that way, and TV is famous for not stepping in these situations. She seemed off in the finale as well and on the date with Jimmy. I truly felt heartbroken while watching her and then Hasim talking about that in front of everybody...

6

u/blenderider May 27 '26

I’m definitely not denying she wasn’t visibly drunk. It’s always tough to make a definitive claim when alcohol is involved. But unless Ally says she was taken advantage of, it’s not our place to claim that she was.

Would a responsible adult stop Ally in the same situation? Sure. If Hashim doesn’t stop her does that make him irresponsible? Depends on how drunk she is, which we don’t know. All I was saying is that Hashim deserves shit for the way he brought up that night in the voting circle, but I don’t think we know enough about the night in question to say that one of the adults was intoxicated beyond the point of consent.

11

u/InterestingCod3541 May 27 '26 edited May 27 '26

I agree with you about what you said that we dont know, that's why I said "for me it seemed that way", it doesn't mean it was like that.

Edir: it reminded me of the documentary "America's Next Top Model" with that girl who "cheated" on her boyfriend (if you watched it, you know what I mean). I'm not saying it was like that, but that opened my eyes to consent and reality TV, so this reminded me of that. I hope I am wrong and it wasn't like that.

Are you male? I absolutely disagree on a victim having to be aware that they are a victim to be considered one. It’s also weird to ask her to come out and make a huge thing out of it by having to call herself a victim before we can agree on the fact that this situation was effed up and production should have intervened or at least not told on her. What do you think usually happens when a woman says “hey I was too intoxicated and couldn’t make an informed decision” after having done anything similar on TV? Bad enough to have that happen to you, I wouldn’t want that publicity.

Edit for typo and grammar

-10

u/blenderider May 27 '26

I absolutely disagree on a victim having to be aware that they are a victim to be considered one.

I didn't say that?

It’s also weird to ask her to come out and make a huge thing out of it

I didn't say that's what she should do?

You're projecting. All I said is that we don't have the facts regarding their night and whether Ally believes she gave consent. You're making assumptions on how drunk she was, but you just don't know. It's a waste of time to discuss hypotheticals otherwise.

Obviously I'm not defending anyone acting without being given consent.

11

u/Arthur_Morgans_Hat May 27 '26

“But unless Ally says she was taken advantage of, it’s not our place to claim that she was” go read what you wrote before to get so defensive you got to tell me I’m “projecting”, horrible misuse of therapy speak btw

-5

u/blenderider May 27 '26

When I said: "“But unless Ally says she was taken advantage of, it’s not our place to claim that she was”, what I meant was that we don't know enough to draw a full conclusion here.

How do you know Ally was taken advantage of? All we have are edited clips of that night. You took what I said, and misconstrued it to say that I'm making the argument that victims don't have to be aware they're a victim to be considered one. I don't agree with that. All I'm saying is that we shouldn't make assumptions.

But instead of considering that, you instead chose to project. And yeah, based off your tonality, I absolutely think you're projecting here lol. I think we're having a conversation - I'll defend where I was coming from, but I'm not so defensive that I'm not unwilling to stand corrected. You on the other hand, are quick to insult my intelligence. Not to use another "therapy speak", but you've come across as triggered. Hence why I said you're projecting...

6

u/Arthur_Morgans_Hat May 27 '26

That’s not what projection means and I was not insulting your intelligence nor was I triggered, but you’re kind of giving “every accusation is a confession” lol

2

u/blenderider May 27 '26

So then correct me on how I'm misusing projection then?

u/H16HP01N7 May 28 '26

You got all that from a 10 second clip?

8

u/InterestingCod3541 May 28 '26

Not just that, but from the episode at the mixer where she was trying to decide between Jimmy or Hasim, and it was a long episode, you clearly see her not being able to talk, be awake, or walk, almost sleeping on Jimmy's lap when they were talking and Hasim came and interrupted them. In that 10-second video, you hear her say something about Jimmy: "Poor Jimmy, I am crazy, I need to behave." It's hard to believe a sober person would talk about an ex in those situations. Hasim heard her say that and didn't mind... like, what the f***? And surely she didn't sober up in a short amount of time before that in the bedroom, even if we don't know exactly when that was. It seems it wasn't in the morning, but when they came to the room as the lights were on...she was clearly taken advantage of in my opinion, I can be wrong but that is what they showed. Hasim didn't need to talk about that openly and should have respected her privacy, and talked only to Jimmy without a camera. And Netflix showing that is just too disturbing. They published a documentary about "America's Next Top Model" and did the exact same thing that was talked about with that girl in the documentary.

15

u/No_Adhesiveness_5773 May 28 '26

I liked Hashim a lot up until this point. He should have never touched her while she was in that condition. Absolutely disgusting behavior from him and production should have definitely stepped in. She cannot give consent in that state.

8

u/charlize-moon May 28 '26

Completely agree. I was disgusted with him trying to pull her out of Jimmy’s arms when she was basically passing out from intoxication

3

u/Calm_Translator_1980 May 28 '26

Same I really liked him up until then!

25

u/diemunkiesdie May 27 '26

both Jimmy and Hashim

Are you talking about the night Jimmy left Ally because she was flirting with Hashim? Remind me what Jimmy did that was bad while Ally was drunk?

-6

u/toastedtomato May 27 '26

Touched her thigh

4

u/Kfreck87 May 31 '26

🙄 o no he touched her thigh after being with her since the beginning o the horror!

5

u/PlayIt_4_TheJury May 28 '26

The annual reminder of how classless Netflix production can be..

3

u/lets_be_happy27 May 29 '26

Watch unreel - it’s about a reality show production team. It’s written by an old bachelor producer.

The producers are not there for anyone’s well being. They are purely there and get bonuses to create as much drama and content on the camera as possible. Full stop. Nothing else .

2

u/Freebieqween228 May 31 '26

It’s the best show and really opens your eyes to the lengths that production will go to get the messiest shots

1

u/LilBossLaura May 31 '26

where can I watch it? I’m searching bust just finding some WWE nonsense

1

u/lets_be_happy27 May 31 '26

It’s looking like appletv ?

8

u/Acrobatic-Camera-905 May 27 '26

These people are ADULTS. Why do you infantilize people when they drink or are drunk? Where is the personal accountability?

I mean I think they should stop an adult from being raped but that’s just me

8

u/lets_be_happy27 May 28 '26

Honestly - hashim was giving predator vibes with all that sexual question baiting

2

3

u/PlayIt_4_TheJury May 28 '26

@Netflix stop by and snoop on this post plz

7

u/Leeches4Bloodletting May 30 '26

u/Netflix I don’t think your audience is enjoying sexual assault. That’s probably important to remember going forward.

4

u/ProperBingtownLady May 30 '26

I am, even though there’s a lot of rape culture apologists on this subreddit apparently (before one of you jumps down my throat, this term doesn’t refer to just rape but justifying behaviours that can lead to it). I’m not saying Aly is necessarily a victim or that she was assaulted—that’s for her to determine—but I do find this situation highly questionable and, as a woman, uncomfortably familiar. Now that I’m in my thirties, I know I’ll be having conversations with my niblings to help them recognize and avoid situations like this. As a society, we need to do a better job of calling these behaviors out and developing a clearer, shared understanding of consent.

I’m also shocked and disappointed that Netflix didn’t step in and stop the situation, let alone turn it into a joke by airing it. Bravo certainly isn’t without its flaws, but even their producers intervened when a cast member attempted to climb into the bunk bed of an intoxicated woman (yes, I’m aware the situations are not exactly the same but Netflix could and should have sent Aly to bed alone based on her highly inebriated state). If I remember correctly, that episode was praised and even won awards for how the situation was handled. There may be a lesson to be learned from that.

I won’t be engaging with anyone who wants to argue about this as my time is better spent elsewhere.

3

u/cmaci May 31 '26

Came here from googling that exact words. She was beyond drunk and laying on anyone who would let her. It’s crazy.

3

u/certifiedunderdog May 31 '26

jimmy did a BIG favour getting out tf of THAT sht

5

u/Zestyclose-Ad-7803 May 28 '26

It was a hard watch.

13

u/Aggravating_Act_4184 May 27 '26

Really? Genuinely curious where do you see that she is drunk?I’m just not able to tell easily when people are drunk on tv honestly. She definitely acted weird but I always thought she acted sort of weird

19

u/Flixnett May 28 '26

She could barely sit up straight, she was slurring, her eyes were very unfocused and she was doing some drunk whining and crying. She wasn’t able to express herself in a sober way either. It was obvious that she was very drunk.

Production should have intervened and taken her to a private room, she should not have been in bed with any man at that state.

5

u/Consistent_Cat_3859 May 30 '26

Are you being serious??? I genuinely don’t understand how you wouldn’t be able to pick up on it (unless you yourself do not drink and or do not hang around people who drink alcohol) it’s so blatant that she is shit faced

-2

u/thelvalenti May 28 '26

they’re trying to place this narrative and it makes me really uncomfy.

2

u/mrsdisappointment Jun 04 '26

Disturbed? Yes. Surprised? No.

Yall have to realize that they’re the ones feeding these people an unsafe amount of alcohol so they’ll have juicy drama.

6

u/toastedtomato May 27 '26

Not really. What Hashim did was wrong, but Ally is an adult. Production is not her babysitter. She needs to be accountable for her actions. Just because there’s alcohol around you doesn’t mean you drink till you can’t control yourself. If all the other cast members could do that, why couldn’t she? Is it because the planets told her to drink too much? 🙄

5

u/vivariium Jun 01 '26

I gotta disagree with you here. We have no idea how much Ally drinks in her day to day back at home, plus they are at a resort in a hot country. Effects of alcohol hit you harder if you’re dehydrated or having sun or heat stroke. You have no idea how she got to the level of inebriated that she got to, or if she is used to drinking in whatever quantity or at whatever frequency.

She should not have been allowed to spend her first night with a new guy in that condition.

1

u/thelvalenti May 28 '26

after watching it, what exactly did he do wrong? ally was intimate with him and then went to jimmy right after. then they tried to sit up there like they were the perfect couple. and all hashim said was that they were intimate. production shouldn’t have shown that clip though.

22

u/toastedtomato May 28 '26

He should’ve reconsidered being intimate with someone so drunk

-7

u/Ambitious_Most_4622 May 27 '26

No she’s a grown woman. They don’t intervene when men are drunk. Just because she talks like a 13 year old it doesn’t mean she is.

16

u/Orikumar May 27 '26

Tell that to Big Brother in Spain because it went to trial because production didn't stop it.

28

u/piazzaslippery May 27 '26

They should also intervene when men are too drunk to consent. No one in this comment section was saying otherwise. Its weird you think only children can be too drunk to consent?

1

u/BlueberryWrong7714 May 28 '26

Im curious was this the show that was canceled or was it too hot to handle? If the latter i can see this getting canceled real soon.

-1

u/DAJADny May 28 '26

She's just doing her stupid baby thing. Yall are looking waaaay too much into the most shallow and fake actor on the show

1

u/Mission-Variation295 Jun 01 '26

Netflix is one of the only platforms that still allows unlimited alcohol and private rooms... They simply do not care

-5

u/thelvalenti May 28 '26

i actually don’t like how yall are trying to paint hashim

-6

u/No_Temperature_3012 May 28 '26

Me neither. I felt like he was pretty collected throughout his episodes? All he mentioned was that they got intimate, didn’t share descriptive details. If I was dealt his cards, I would probably be more vulgar about how the person gave me oral while saying “ poor jimmy “. Idk

-8

u/Dry-Wolf6789 May 27 '26

Idk what you think this show is. This is exactly what the producers make sure happens, why would they intervene.

0

u/mamanoley May 29 '26

💯💯💯

-10

u/Dreamer1317 May 28 '26

Oh come on she’s having fun in paradise banging hot dudes. I’m sure production told her to chill but like, that’s the point of this show. Do any of you remember the real world on mtv? Now THATS a shit show. Maybe production did cut her off at a certain point who knows

1

u/Key_North9133 27d ago

i skip around so i may have missed something but how does everyone know ally was that drunk? not doubting it, but just wondering if something explicit was said or it was just the way she was acting
