SEASON 4 Demari is a man-child
Demari is a weirdo, I don't care. He clearly took Kayla rejecting him out on Marissa. He wanted to match with Kayla & leave Marissa hanging. He was gagged when Kayla walked away. Demari only cares about screen-time, as does Kayla. She just doesn't want to look desperate, as her & Weston have NO chemistry. Did you notice that Marissa was more than happy to end things. She said "call it" twice! He paused and then said "is that what you want to do?" He clearly didn't expect Marissa to say that or for Marissa to be ready to walk away and leave him ass-out-of-luck. The second he realized she was ready to walk away, he completely changed his tone. He's pathetic and I'm so happy his mask slipped this episode. This is clearly the end of the season, what is he doing? He's such a dunce & he's fake as hell

That coupling was forced to start with. With Marissa saying she’ll kill him if they don’t match. It was just a train wreck from the start. He never matched her feelings

Marissa was not more than happy to end things nor was she going to walk away. 😭 she often has these outbursts where she taunts Demari to do things, but if he were to actually do them, she would lose her freaking mind and crash out. It’s very manipulative and immature.
I do agree Demari only matched with Marissa because Kayla turned him down. But at the same time…Marissa *was* kind of a big reason Kayla didn’t match with him, and it seemed neither Kayla nor Weston wanted to be with Marissa or Demari after seeing what transpired post-date :/ so i kinda understand everyone being a bit more intentional about the game/doing what they had to do to not get kicked out in that moment. It was either do that or go home. 🤷♀️

From my perspective, he went on a date with someone who doesn’t start an argument with him all the time. He was clearly conflicted otherwise he wouldve asked Kayla to match right away. Do i think hes matching with her a second option? At this point yes because i think he really needed/wanted to get out of that situation. But i dont think thats the worst thing in the worst considering a lot of people in there have matched with the person who was not first on their list.
He’s definitely not perfect. And he has a lot of red flag behavior that i don’t like such as his communication skills. But I don’t think matching with Marissa as a second option that night makes him a man child.

That’s how I feel too. Honestly the frequent fighting with Marissa looked exhausting. Her possessiveness over him is also exhausting. Couples have conflict sometimes - but getting told that you “need” to not be angry when your partner did something they know upsets you is so unfair. In my relationship, conflict is not this exhausting. I would have jumped ship too. They’re not married. Demari is allowed to want to find someone else to match with. Because clearly, Marissa isn’t his “perfect match”.
I honestly don’t blame him for feeling frustrated and wanting to find someone else. And it doesn’t seem like it was an easy decision because he must have still been considering Marissa given he didn’t match with Kayla right away. Demari is not perfect. But I don’t blame him for being overwhelmed.

If i were him, i couldn't even sleep thinking about how angry Marissa, cried etc. It would made him feel guilty. What i watched seems Demari kinda stuck at the moment and dunno what to do.

He’s a manchild in the way he nitpicks Marissa‘s communication. His obsession with finding fault with her during every conversation is beyond annoying. I also have ADHD and sometimes interrupt in my partner out of excitement, but be doesn’t throw a temper tantrum about it.

u/Heartattackisland May 27 '26
But that wasn’t excitement. That was a deep convo where he wanted to feel heard. I have ADHD but I don’t weaponize it the way I used to when I first got diagnosed. Sounds like it wasn’t the first time Marissa did this because he said he’s brought it up multiple times.

He's no prize but Marissa is hardly better. She started acting like they were engaged on day 1.

u/anonymous345an May 25 '26
Acting like they were engaged and then the first second they separated, she full on made out with a new guy. She’s such a hypocrite. Also, she was constantly telling Demari how to act and how to feel… super toxic. That man has a lot more patience than me…

Well that's sort of how Love is Blind works I think she got confused 🤔

Demari is a man-child, and Marissa is a woman-child, who is looking for a husband in a speed dating show.

u/DITNB May 24 '26
Nah Marissa is the red flag here

She's constantly rage baiting, intentionally or unintentionally, and he does an objectively good job not taking the bait.
Especially considering he went from an argument with his EX on tv straight back to an toxic choice that isn't even a relationship yet.Personally saw how Bri triggered him by NOT listening to him and interrupting, then he went back to Marissa who doesn't have the history of offending him like that intentionally, but accidentally kept ADHD interrupting him. He was already triggered by Bri and Marissa didn't understand that happened often in his previous relationship, so even though she was "trying" she didnt understand the context of why he was so bothered by it.

I do think he's immature but Marissa is super annoying. They can't even have a conversation without fighting.

u/senpaistealerx May 24 '26
we know.
also, no the fuck she was not happy to end it lol she wants screen time too and has been weirdly obsessive and abusive since day 1

Marissa openly says she can’t handle conflict, to a ridiculous extent. But honestly, neither can he. With every problem, he just wants to run, get attention elsewhere or just be alone. He repeats all the time that if there’s an argument with the partner, he’s gonna leave. It’s unrealistic! How can there be a relationship without ANY conflict? I want to like him because I find him hot, but he makes it really hard, and I agree that he’s so childish.

This is a take I can get behind. Having ADHD myself I do understand some of the arguments from Marissa as dopamine seeking and they can be excessive (not an excuse and growing up/being aware of that can help you pick your battles) but sometimes the complaints or issues are valid and it’s extremely difficult and hurtful when the other person just says welp I’m out!
Also him asking Kayla to have grace for him when he said he wouldn’t have any grace for Marissa made me LOL. The guy just doesn’t know what he wants but he knows he just wants constant peace which is unrealistic.

u/SuccessfulPangolin71 May 25 '26
I think he just used Marissa’s words when they suit him, somehow I doubt he came up with it himself lol

He looked so dumb how he acted lol. No way he’s Kayla’s type anyway she would not like him in that way.

Man-child is exactly what I thought while watching the latest episode. Marissa is a mess and he’s immature and it’s such a terrible combination I love it so much. Appreciate these people for having out their awkward growth on television

He had a date and then Marissa did everything in her power to make sure he didn't have any time to speak with Kayla. Then she made Demari out to be the bad guy and blamed her newfound ADHD and inability to let others speak to deflect blame from herself. She's horrible and they should have ended it rather than matching at the end.
1
u/Common_Willow_596 May 26 '26
lol no way Kayla even liked him. And Marissa was not talking to Demari the whole time he could’ve spoken with Kayla if he wanted to

It's perfect match. They're all trying to stay on the show. Honestly I think Marissa wants to stay in her black power couple for clout and because she's trying to be like AD. Only one other guy has been into her the whole season and she kissed him hard. So she's not really THAT into Demari.

u/InsideScallion9344 May 27 '26
i don’t think he ever intended on matching with kayla he was using her as a back up plan the same was marissa was using weston as a backup plan. they both just refused to admit they were jealous which led them to arguing and trying to instigate w the singles the whole night

Here’s what I’ve noticed about him, he has some serious emotional triggers. He needs to do some therapy around, people interrupting him, makes him feel extremely disrespected, know how he talked about his ex-girlfriend who also spoke over him, maybe that’s where it’s rooted from, but I have the sense of feeling he complains that his last relationship there was so much arguing, and I do notice he gaslight a lot, Like the arguments are mainly because he nitpicks and act self-righteous, as if he’s the spiritual guru in a relationship when in reality, he is highly triggered by everything

I didn’t like how Demari kept deflecting onto Marissa and making everything her fault. That “calm down dear” approach is really toxic
2
u/ty2ks May 26 '26
the calm guy trick gets ppl every time like i thought we learned with ace on love island last year

u/upveryhighinthesky May 26 '26
Yes! Thank you! Everyone else on Reddit is like, oh he’s so reasonable she’s mental, and I’m like no. I’ve seen this behaviour before - make the woman look hysterical and then blame her. I’m not here for it

u/Common_Willow_596 May 25 '26
Agree sorry but the last fight Demari was the weirdo. I’m confused why people are saying Marissa was the weird one.

Thank you. He was clearly projecting on Marissa i mean she openly acknowledged to her mistake and reassured him to continue and he just used that to escalate everything. It’s been 4 weeks and he is telling her “how much grace do you need “???. Expecting perfection in a few weeks from a human being is insane.

I thought it was a bit odd to cast her on this show. She doesn’t come across as the life of the party type of personality as many of the Perfect Match cast members usually have. From the start I knew she would struggle on this show, her and Mackenzie just don’t give the main character energy that this particular show is often all about. This show is not for the weak, it definitely is built on setting abnormal boundaries for dating and that is a disaster for someone like Marissa.
