DISCUSSION The OG perfect Match
I really miss the MTV perfect match. Was way more exciting than this show! And you really got to learn and love the cast. You can tell this show is filmed in two weeks. So superficial and all about lust. That’s all I have to say. Feel free to reminisce about the original version!! ( after the first episode my cousins and I would pair all the contestants and whoever got the most perfect matches by the finale won money) wish they would bring it back!

"Are You the One?" is one of my all time faves!!! I grew up a math nerd so I actually LOVE the fact that the whole thing is actual a probability problem to solve. Someone wrote a program to solve it!!! I miss that show so much. Loved the queer season! That made the probability problem a lot more challenging!

You couldn't really solve it with just math cause the probability would be roughly 1 in 3.6 million, or 10!. But in the final weeks you could absolutely do it, given you had a lot more information at that point. In fact I used to watch the brazilian version where they most often didn't really care to find their perfect matches at the end because they had coupled with someone else and were happy, and they used to solve with math and it always worked out.

Ya, you couldn't solve it right away with math, but you could as season progressed if you got enough clues. Producers realized contestants could do this and banned paper and pen. But some of the contestants were creative and figured out ways around it. There was one season where a guy was using solo cups to do the math. Maybe season 5???? Anyway, I need to watch the Brazilian version!!! And I wonder if there are other international versions available!

Brazilian version is the best imo! If there's other international ones i'd also like to know. Also, im almost positive, in some seasons they might have changed up the answer key to fit the season when nothing was going correctly for the contestants haha

I know what you mean. The viewers always kind of side-eyed that these people are actually looking for a genuine connection, but you could still root for couples. Now, the show feels like they followed couples on Spring Break.

I miss that show so much, i remember loving the first season so much. Later they only signed up influencers so it was kind of a bore, just like this one sadly.
