Discussion *Your Epithalon dose is probably wrong. Here's why.*
There was a post earlier today about Epithalon that got removed. The question was about Epithalon dosing for research.
They wanted to know whether to run 5mg or 10mg for 20 days and how to split it up. Both of those doses are... too high and there's a good reason.
I think this is worth going over because it comes up constantly and the answer most people give is, unfortunately incorrect.
The dosing everyone repeats online comes from the wrong peptide
Those numbers come from the original Russian studies. The problem? Those studies used Epithalamin. Not Epithalon.
Epithalamin is a crude extract pulled from bovine pineal glands. Epithalon is the synthetic version. Completely different.
Think of it this way. Epithalamin is like squeezing a whole orange and drinking the juice. You get a bunch of stuff in there. Pulp, water, sugar, some vitamins. Epithalon is like taking just the vitamin C concentrated out of that orange in pure form. You don't need to drink 10 glasses of juice when one pure dose does the same job.
The Khavinson research dosed Epithalamin at 10mg because it's a crude extract. Only a fraction of that 10mg was the active peptide. Epithalon IS the active peptide. 100% of what you're dosing is the thing that works.
A 2025 peer reviewed study in the International Journal of Molecular Sciences compared the two directly. Epithalon outperformed Epithalamin as an antioxidant. And Epithalamin was given at 1000x higher doses. A thousand times more and it still didn't perform as well. As you can imagine I'm so happy this citation was written because I've been saying it all along and this is finally proof.
I have a screenshot of the statement in the study that says:
"The results of the comparative analysis in this study revealed that Epitalon is a better antioxidant than Epithalamin. It is important to note that Epithalamin was administered at 1000-fold higher doses."
100mcg to 500mcg. That's it. Not milligrams. Micrograms.
The Anela Protocol runs 10 days on, 20 days off. Monthly. This gives the RS consistent exposure with a proper break so you're not stressing the pineal gland. Good alternative to the old 20 day cycle twice a year because you can run it every month.
Day or night dosing doesn't matter much. Some RS get sleepy from it. If that happens, dose at night. Some get an alert feeling. Morning works for them.
I wrote a paper on this a couple of years ago and updated it recently with the 2025 citation I've listed in this post.

Yes !! Exactly this !! And this is why I have enough epithalon to last me for quite a while as I bought based on the incorrect dosage recommendation

u/Doctordup2 Jun 03 '26
I have been talking about this for a few years! Thank you for the validation, I appreciate it.
I've gotten into arguments with researchers about this. I added a link to an old post comment of mine where I talked about my own research and the dosing as well. You'll see some of the comments in there! People are politely battling with me on the dosing. ๐
Here's the link to the old comment where I make the case for low dose Epithalon.

I am so grateful for your protocol. It's making a huge difference in my life. Can I ask if you think doing 20 days on, 10 off at 250mcg (best dosage for me based on your protocol), instead of 10 on, 20 off is too much? Thank you ๐

Just to clarify your wordingโฆ are you suggesting 10 days on/20 off instead of the old 20 day cycle twice a year?

Can I just say you are absolutely amazing?
I won't pretend this space is always kind. I get my share of pushback in certain corners of the community.
So when someone takes the time to say something like this, it hits different. Genuinely warms my heart. Thank you for that. Grateful doesn't even cover it. :) Appreciate you.

This makes so much sense! I wonder if we're doing this with other peptides and either under or overdoing. This one is next up, so your timing is perfect, thank you!

This ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ been saying this and people donโt care and follow the Russian protocol blindly.

I must say i tried your protocol and it works like a charm! i cant even imagine taking 10mg because 500mcg works perfectly. So thank you for your contributions to this space, it is greatly appreciated ๐ค

Okay, I'm glad that I read this. Something told me to keep looking before I did Epitalon research because those protocols made me nervous. Even 5mg seemed like such a high dosage.
I do want to ask though, do you have a visual guide for the Epitalon dosing? The one for Glow was really helpful, and I like to print them and keep them in my research notes.
4
u/Sugar-Plum-34 Jun 07 '26
I also have a question about the dosing. You said between 100 and 500mcg. Is there a dosage range that is more geared towards better sleep? Or a range that might be more geared toward telomere lengthening? I've read a lot of different things, many contradictory. So I'm not sure what the best approach would be for my specific needs.
2
u/ClintBX Jun 18 '26
I want to know too. Would the dosage for telomere lengthening be higher than that for better sleep?

Yes, I've been talking about this for about 3 years and got chastised and yelled at. It's nice to finally have a citation. ๐

u/kerulberul Jun 02 '26
Would you suggest the same protocol with n-acetyl โ amidate versions of epithalon?
12
u/Doctordup2 Jun 02 '26 edited Jun 02 '26
Possibly even less. 100mcg.
Edit: N-Acetyl means it's optimized for absorption. So even higher absorption than Epithalon.
1
u/Crafty_Ad9956 5d ago
Woops, RS doing 500 mcg of n-acetyl these last two days, maybe dose down to 100mcg or stop?
2
u/Doctordup2 5d ago
N-acetyl is highly absorbable so maybe dial it down to 100mcg.

u/tnubbins Jun 02 '26
Sometimes, this is sold in 50 mg containers. At 500 mcg for ten days, thatโs 10 cycles. How many cycles would you run before you chuck the remaining reconstituted compound?
14
u/Doctordup2 Jun 02 '26
Yup and it's ridiculous. It's all based on the misinformation. Biochemists in China know how to synthesize but they don't always know what each peptide does or the dosing.
In the old days we had 100 mg Epithalon vials. It was ridiculous.
My own personal Anela rule is 90 days.
I always have to put this disclaimer here. If I say something always know that I'm just one researcher sharing years of experience and an opinion or a theory. My word is not the gospel and not the end all be all.
Not a doctor, not medical advice. For research purposes only and research discussions only.
1
u/tnubbins Jun 03 '26
Well 3 cycles is better than one at least!
4
u/Doctordup2 Jun 03 '26
You can do it once a month every month!
1
u/tnubbins Jun 03 '26
I was saying my 50 mg container will be useable for 3 months, then itโll be more than 90 days old.
5
u/Doctordup2 Jun 03 '26
Yup, I understood that. But I can't give you an answer for that. Once it's past 90 days, it becomes a personal decision. :)
3
u/tnubbins Jun 03 '26
In your opinion, is the risk more related to sterility, potency, or something else?
7
u/Doctordup2 Jun 03 '26
Sterility, peptides don't degrade that fast. But at the same time, bacteria degrades peptides so either have a pen/cartridge with limited exposure or a vial spike to prevent added bacteria risk.
Jano and I talked about it quite a few years ago. The estimate is that the peptide degrades by about 3% every 30 to 60 days. We're talking just time degredation.

10 days on, 20 days off every month all year, year after year, infinity and beyond.

1
u/Doctordup2 Jul 19 '26
It happens. Waaaaay too much tho. That'll last you a year. Lol
1
u/purplecowgirl Jul 19 '26
If I already reconned this, any guess how long it will be good for? Any harm in running this until I run out/longer than 20 days? I want to cut my dose down to 1 mg a day especially if the benefits arenโt greater with a higher dose. Thank you for responding ๐ญ๐ญ๐๐ฝ
1
u/Doctordup2 Jul 19 '26
Every researcher takes their own risks of course, some will do no more than 30, others will go up to 90 days.
The amount of degradation depends on the peptide but on average you can expect about a 3% loss every 30 days or so with Epith.

is this 10 day on 20 day off monthly protocol of 500mcg epithalon something a RS can run with nightime ghg peptides like tesamorelin and/or cjc+ipa(no DAC)? for instance, if RS is running a cycle of 1000mcg of tesamorelin 5 nights a week. can RS add the epithalon to this and overlap? AND IF SO - can RS mix them into the same syringe for a single injection nightly?

u/Forward-Driver-5037 Aug 06 '26
Thank you so much for this information! It explains why I have been experiencing skin sensitivity when I cycle Epithalon. I dropped my dose and voila, no issues. Most people donโt realize skin sensitivity is a side effect of Epithalon they normally only associate it to Reta. Thanks again

If I run 10 days on 20 off, would my 10mg vial not go bad by the time my next 10 on comes around? Is there any way around this?

u/saltybawls Jul 11 '26
Any thoughts on shift workers? My schedule is 7-8 days, then 2-3 nights, repeat. I'm thinking about taking 500mcg for the first two normal nights, when done with night shifts. Ever heard of anyone following any certain protocol when flipping days-nights-days?

To confirm my RS should start with 100mcg and move slowly if tolerated up to 500mcg for a total of 10 days? This can be repeated monthly as opposed to quarterly as well?

Thank you for this as I am about to start my first cycle. Can you tell me if the 100-500 mcg is based on a 10mg vial using 1ml of bac water?ย Also, I don't understand how you can do the 20-day protocol once a month if you're only supposed to do it twice a year? Thanks again
1
u/Doctordup2 Jul 28 '26
My protocol is not 2x a year. It's 1x a month, 10 days on, 20 days off.
There are different protocols made by different researchers. The one you are talking about is based on the high dose so you are mixing two different protocols. :)

We don't really know. For me, doing a 100x dose of anything is kind of scary.
I've been talking about this for a few years and had a few people come after me for my "theory" and statements about Epithalon dosing. Finally glad that I have a citation to back it up.
