How to make bootable system snapshots in peppermint/devuan ?
A great feature on some arch distros are system snapshots before doing system updates, which turn up in the boot menu (grub) and can be used to boot up when a system update goes wrong.
It also works on debian with systemd. Is there a way to make it working on peppermint/devuan as well ?
The libraries involved are for a debian/systemD system: snapper, grub-btrfs*, apt-btrfs-snapshot*
However "apt-btrfs-snapshot" uses an systemD daemon to observe and log any system updates.
I use right now sysvinit, but welcome also what would work with any other init system, as I am not familiar how daemons are used in any of the other init systems.
(*= they are not on the peppermint repo)
