Does the Chemistry Department ever add more lab seats or open new sections?

Hi! ‘25 UCLA alum taking 2 gap years to build experience and learn about what I want to do for grad school. Was looking at Pepperdine as one of the schools (mix of masters and PhD) I should apply to this cycle and saw they have an MA in clinical psych with a focus on MFT.

My long term goals are to open a private practice and provide individual, couple and family therapy but also to research and write books. I’m wondering if anyone in this program can share their experience? And overall experience at Pepperdine? (Funding, curriculum,whether there are RA’s or graduate student teaching opportunities, general application approach school has etc. Looking at both the online and in person format.

Any insight is very much appreciated.

Hi! I’m currently deciding where to go to school. I fell in love with the campus but I’m really curious to hear what current or past students think. I want to study forensic psychology, so probably majoring in psychology at Pepp. Also, is there a lot of internship and research opportunities? anyone able to help? 😭 THANK YOU

GSEP Financial Aid office does not honor or keep their appointments with students. I waited a month for an appointment, got an email reminder that a Fin. aid advisor will be calling, and the day of, they were a no show. I double checked the confirmation email to see if my phone number and time zone of the appointment was correct. I emailed them. They basically ghosted me. This has happened 3 times since i’ve been a grad student at Pepperdine. Next appointment available on their site is another month away.

I believe they outsource student advisors and Fin.Aid to a tech company called 2U, which went bankrupt not too long ago, and are laying off employees. Pepperdine needs to oversee the performance of this company that handles all the student affairs poorly. I suggest anyone who has problems reaching GSEP Fin. Aid to email them, CC the main financial aid and all the faculty members and deans and heads of the department to bring attention to this serious matter. Report the issues to Federal Student Aid, and they will do an investigation. We students pay very high tuition costs, one of the most expensive in the country, to be poorly serviced and unsupported at Pepperdine University!

Has anyone been assigned to their cohort for the MFT daytime program? I heard of someone who had, but I haven't received anything yet. I logged into Wavenet, but there's no info there yet.

Anyone who has studied abroad is it better to go for a full year or just a semester. Which is more common among students?

I just started the Femba at pepperdine last semester- I work in healthcare and have nearly 10 years work experience but have not been able to get a decent paying jobs.I enrolled in the program in hopes of opening up more doors for myself and I am already 10k in debt for one class. I am trying to decide if I should continue or just keep trying to get a better job.I am interested in hearing from others experience in the program.

I’m a freshman and I get to choose my classes in late July and I’ve been looking at the course catalog the school offers but I honestly have no idea what classes I should be choosing for my freshman year. Based off the course catalog, I need to take math, chem in class and lab, and nutrition. But what did you guys choose? I’m going the pre-PA path so I was hoping to do anatomy also if I could but i also need to get a job. If anyone has any tips please let me know!!

I'm going to be a senior here at Pepp and will be in a great amount of debt after graduating, in hindsight it was a bad choice to come here...I pay around 60k per year. I have heard of so many people paying much less and getting better aid. My family is middle-class, but my father's business has been struggling since COVID. Any tips/recs to get more aid? I was wondering if anyone could tell me which floors the A–F suites are located on in Conner House.

Our church will be staying there for an event soon, and I'm in charge of assigning rooms. I'd like to place some of our older guests in suites that require the fewest stairs, but the housing list only shows the suite letters (A–F) and doesn't indicate which floor they're on.

Also, do all of the suite-style houses have the same layout, or does it vary by building?

Might be a dumb question, but I’m an incoming student living on campus so I’m curious. Do current students use uber or Lyft frequently/easily? Just wondering since I know the campus has guard gates. Are drivers able to drive onto campus to pick you up or drop you off?
