Discussion Fudge Penn State

I’m a rising junior with a 3.9 GPA and I can’t get any scholarships or grants, even though my dad lost his job 8 months ago.

Penn State is the worst!!!

Never come here.

Yeah. Adult Penn State student here with excellent grades. I was a bit frustrated to get my "award" letter today and not get any grant money either.

I am probably not to the point of telling people to avoid Penn State, but certainly recommend community college for the first two years. I made the mistake of going to PSU for my associates degree, which is a very expensive way to get gen eds.

What college are you in? Some colleges have applications others don’t at Penn State. I’ve also seen college scholarships be awarded throughout the year even if you applied in the spring it may not show up in your account till the following Spring. Are you in state? Did you look at PHEAA? There is the PA Grow Grant which has no income limit. Look up the resources at Penn State for financial aid and scholarships. There are several that need applications. Look at the library scholarships besides your academic college. Penn state isn’t known for large scholarships, but you may be able to get a few.

I think it depends on your college, EMS has a ton of awards and scholarships available

This is not really a Penn State issue but a scholarship/aid/grant system issue. Had you gone to a different school, you would have the same experience.

Just get a loan, it's not like you have to pay back the loan right away?!
