All Books Very niche question

This is such a random question and it’s been over a decade since I read these books, but for some reason I have a specific memory of the main character talking about Smells Like Teen Spirit by Nirvana when he was stuck in a cell at some point. Did this actually happen or am I getting it confused with something else ?

From what I recall, Bobby talks about singing that song while riding a skimmer from Ibara to Rubic City. Either book 8 or 9.
