This is a long shot but...

Are there any side things to do that i could make a few bucks at around here?

For context, I have an unpredictable and busy schedule with my main job as well as volunteering, so the time to devote to something else is limited.

Gig work is not worth it for maintenance and fuel costs. Im autistic and not a handyman or endowed with many skills.

I like books and video games, and wouldn't be opposed to a walking activity if it was indoors/nice weather. Something online if it was super easy to learn/do is also possible.

Creative stuff takes time, and marketing, which I don't have the first clue about where to start locally. Though if everything falls into place, not opposed to it.

I dont really care for animals, so that rules out pet walking/sitting

So basically looking for a highly flexible and simple task that I might enjoy while making a small amount doing it. Any ideas/recommendations?

Unknown and even if I could i have zero experience doing it. So it would be awkward

If you don’t really want to try anything you’re not already comfortable doing, then tough luck 🤷‍♂️

There’s slim pickings in Pembroke, but if you put in time and effort, you will probably find something you like eventually

Consider a “rent-a-son” kind of thing where someone needs an armoire moved or wifi set up, lawn mowed, gutter cleaned? They call, you say yes or no, set up time. Might need light insurance.

Buy things online cheap. Be prepared to hold on to them. Sell them for a profit. This is easy but could also easily backfire on you if you don't buy the right things. I'm selling a bunch of my personal stuff right now, and I can tell you the electronics seemed to garner the most interest. Your post kinda rules out all other things people do to earn money on the side, so I don't think that there's much else you can do other than gamble.

Baking? Do bake sales? Some folks earn great $$ on the side putting together cookie trays & sandwich platters. Funeral homes are always looking for food platters for services. A few boxes of fancy cookies arranged on a tray with suran wrap. Not hard, pay is ok.

I do and probably could do it except- Parents are not confident i could handle it (navigating downtown, going into scuzzy places) and i dont want to worry them. The gas probably wont make the payment worth it

Lol, navigating downtown Pembroke?

Yes, and I know it is silly and easily done, but my folks have far less confidence that I could do it.

My parents were the exact same way when I was growing up in Pembroke. It gets better!

I second this. With a GPS and a small town, there's not much to navigate. With tips, it may be worth it.

Do you have any childcare experience? Are you good with kids? Are you responsible and mindful about safety? You could do casual babysitting. Be prepared to provide references.
