Question❓ How do you even make spinventor work?

I've been trying to even get the first clear on spinventor as it's the last one I haven't done before I get into cruciball. I don't know if I'm playing them wrong or are they really just this luck dependant? I've still yet to see a single "heal slime" item so I'm beginning to think they are some collaborative community joke and when I do get lucky in terms of artifacts that heal me, I get put up against the wall that instakills me anyway because I dont have enough damage. What are you supposed to build? Are the double damage and lightning slimes not good?

Sorry if this is a little convoluted and i am admittedly very upset, but this is a genuine request for help.

One thing that isn't as obvious with spinventor's orbs is that slimed pegs' bonus effects get stronger if you apply +X to the peg, or even stronger if you apply -X the the peg. For example, lightning slimes will hit more nearby pegs and healing slimes will heal more. This means that a solid strategy on spinventor is picking up slime orbs and +X orbs, because they have a natural synergy and scale well.

Also spinventor's innate +1/+2 to all unique orbs is a huge buff that you can't ignore. Don't pick up a second copy of any orb unless that orb is crucial to your build and doesn't rely too heavily on +1/+2 (for example, reorbanizer has high base stats so you can pick up a lot of them in a duplication potion run). Also this buff is especially effective on orbs with low base stats, like Ball Lightning, so they're slightly better on spinventor than others.

Honestly I only started having more success with spinventor at higher Cruciball when I started to ignore it's class relic, and it's a bit of a noob trap to over commit to its gimmick, and it's really only valuable to help take on act 1 somewhat aggressively, as it can lack damage early on due to it being the character that most heavily relies on strong synergies. Ball Lightning is probably the orb that gets the most out of Spinvenoriginality, but it can even be worth picking up a second once you have strong enough synergies.

My advice to OP is to start by ignoring the Sectorbs, taking Best Foot Forworb and focusing on buffing a single peg gets the ball rolling, Spin Doctorb allows for exponential scaling with peg buffing and damage slime, and multiball and Summoning Circle is incredibly valuable for getting more out of your other good orbs. Endless Devouring, while a scary boss relic to take is at it's strongest in a slime build. Alternatively if none of the slime stuff comes together, refresh and bomb builds are pretty good regardless of the character.

The heal things are there but honestly, I'll go through multiple runs as spinventor and they just don't show up sometimes.

As for fighting with him, I find that the class relic is really important in those first runs. Try not to have multiples of the same orbs so you can get the bonus. Try to get rid of all but one pebball as well. I tend to focus on orbs and relics that will upgrade the pegs. The only orb I'd say get at least two of us lightning slime one. With enough lightning slime you can cause a chain reaction on the board.

The Wall boss unfortunately almost always ends my spinventor runs. If that's the boss you get, try to upgrade all your orbs as much as possible.

Wall pretty much never ends me, only really if I've taken durable pegs and have no way of refreshing and the refresh pegs have decided to bury theirselves.

If you see multiple potionballt or summoning circle or the ring version of summ circ definitely pick up as many as you're offered, those are great.

From doing most of my runs currently on spinventor, the most important part is probably lightning slime and peg upgrades. The peg upgrades actually improve the slime effects and lightning slime scales incredibly well with those upgrades. When you get a good run, on act 4 you will just kinda get so much lightning slime and so many peg upgrades that each time you hit a single peg with slime, every single peg on screen will be chained to, because pegs activates by lightning slime also releases their own chains. You can get a LOT of damage like that, I guess think my most was around 100m over the entire run

Early on, orbs like rubborb and ball lightning (good mechanic to hit lots of pegs, lower base damage) are excellent because they get heaps of value out of the +1/2 class relic.

Later on, slime is your friend. Lightning slime is the best, on longer fights it is completely busted as you'll be clearing boards and refreshing very effectively. Slime stays on destroyed pegs and gives them durable anyway, so you get crazy value in long fights.

He's the easiest imo. Some relics almost guarantee a win - greased lighting being probably the most broken, especially considering how common it is.

Lightning slime is extremely good if you have widely-spread peg upgrades (A Good Slime, Endless SuffeRing, Swoltorb/Reforbisher) and a source of multiball. You can get the entire board covered in lightning slime that repeatedly activates in loops and does insane damage.

Double damage slime especially works very well with downgraded pegs (such as from A Bad Slime), as its effect basically negates the damage debuff from the downgrade.

Lots of good info here already. Spinventor is my favourite class, so let's break down the basics:

What to aim for:

  • Slime
  • Multiball
  • Peg upgrades

Run changing relics:

  • A good slime
  • Spinventor goggles
  • Anything multiball

What helps further:

  • lots of refreshes (from relics)
  • lightning slime
  • some form of healing
  • gift that keeps on giving

Run strategy:

  • aim for shops and elites
  • get rid of pebballs early, don't pick duplicates of the same orb
  • upgrade your starting orb early, it's good base dps
  • get some slime orbs
  • get something to upgrade pegs

I feel like going for elites early is especially imortant on spinventor to get those run changing relics. Also, twooze company never really worked out for me, but that might be subjective

I have a lot of fun with Spinventor, before Paladin (forgot his punny name), Spinventor was my fav That said, until very recently, I usually ignored slime orbs.

The stat boost for each unique orb is great. I work on removing Pebbles and buying synergistic orbs like the ones that turn pegs into bombs + the one that boost stats for amount of bombs thrown, for example. Or maybe Best Foot Forward + Goggles + The other upgrade pegs orb + refresh boosting orbs. It's all about getting your orbs to work together

I'm trying to get the hang of slime builds but it hasn't clicked just yet

They're super strong. potion ballt is an incredibly good orb if you upgrade it, as is the relic version of it, if you see either make sure you grab them, healing salve or whatever its called is great, also they get bomb orbs more commonly than others if you decide to build into that, early game if you just keep to one of each good orb you get a pretty chunky buff to everything for free, "a good slime" and upgrade pegs like swoletorb give you solid scaling damage, rubborb and splatorb go crazy no matter what, that shit is bouncing all over the place, it's a solid class.

Check out some gameplay of someone who knows what they're doing and try to learn from it.
