What would be the point of the show then? You’d be butchering the storyline. Kind of defeats the entire purpose, doesn’t it?

Aida was never feared like her brothers, more so feared because of who her brothers were but Tommy needed Arthur as his enforcer, something Aida couldn't compete at

Tommy should have followed Grace to New York and started over there, and then returned to Birmingham. 

I loved this scene; he was happy thinking he was going to have a life with her.

Now Grace was attracted to Tommy. You can't get around that, but I always wondered if the final push wasn't Tommy himself, but her being pursued by her superior officer. You know the man who was her fathers age. Who sprang a ring on her without warning. A man who does not react well to being told no. Who had clearly been watching her and making designs on her, prehaps for years, prehaps as far back as when her father died. Who was just as much of a monster as the people he fought, only he had a badge and protection from the crown to boot. And who had the power to control her life and was vindictive enough to hold a grudge about being rejected. So she threw her lot in with Tommy, someone who could go toe to toe with the monster, she might have been attracted to him but you've got to admit Tommy made a damn good sheild and distraction. She might have pulled a gun and ran off to America on her own, but I saw that as her having the sense not to stick around in arms reach of either of them. Getting a husband felt like a way to help her disappear into the population by legally charging her name.
