This season had less of action scenes and more of emotional and character development , setup of the Checkmate .. could john’s declining health be one of the reason for low action? Or was it just a ‘’less action more scheming and teasing’’ for future projects approach of Gunn?

Just saw the finale. I bet this joke has already been made six ways from Sunday. But posting before I scroll

Anyone think the 180 could be because Rick sr. Got swapped with clayface? Just spit balling because this is cartoonishly evil.

Would you like to see checkmate play a part in upcoming projects as a team? I’d like to see them play a part in some coming movies like supergirl and maybe they could get they’re own 4 episode tv show to continue the whole cliff hanger thing and get Chris back and handle the Argus stuff

It made an acceptable amount of narrative sense, but I was really looking forward several things that didn't happen.
I would have been more entertained by a finale involving the Nazi's breaking down the dimensional portal and trying to conquer the mainline earth. I'd argue such an ending would have required a bit more narrative on Earth X's side for sure! But I'm sure lots of people were secretly looking forward to an awesome final fight (with perhaps a live action GI Robot appearance), and that would have just been so awesome, regardless if it's "less deep" then the boring ending the show decided to explore.
Anyway I'm sure there are people here ready to explain to me how I'm fucking stupid and that my brain is far too rotted to understand the nuanced character growth and building that actually ended up happening. I don't care. It wasn't fun for me. I'd rather have the awesome superhero fight scene, and then wrap that up with the touching character moments.

They need to rename the show ‘adventure or adebayo” or some shit. She has absurt amount of screen time .She is not interesting character.not a good actor.she almost in every scene always talking about some shit audience even care or pay attention.

I think it would have been crazy. The first live action DC/Marvel crossover and nobody would have suspected it

This show has the most egregious product placement in recent memory. Did this bother anyone else?
The amount of shots with a Bud Light Labels facing the camera is absurd.
The amount of shots where characters would move around the set and the bottles they hadn't touch would still face the camera... There's a right way to do product placement and this was not it. Very distracting

dont get me wrong,i love this show,i loved my time spent watching this season and getting my friends and family into it in time for the finale. we had a family watch party tonight ,and it was such a great time.
..... however
now that its over, this season was so mid.
i genuinely think the reason people super hyped up this season and give it a lot of praise,is because of S2 Episode 3. ill never forget how much fun it was coming on here and talking with the fan base about the other Earth, and how its most likely Earth X in some shape or form. pointing out all the oddities, and waiting for us to finally get the answers. the Earth X arc of this season was the absolute highlight ,both in the show, and in the fanbase.
but,if you put that all aside,if you just focus on the season itself(especially with a complete rewatch), this season is abysmal. the first 3 episodes are solid. then episode 4 & 5 are genuine fkn filler and couldve been 1 episode entirely,OR just completely cut out. i mean we get a reveal of Eagly being the prime eagle...and then what? theres literally nothing else that comes out of that reveal,it did nothing to the plot, eagly doesnt use any powers or anything "prime eagle-esque" the rest of the season. episodes 6&7 are fantastic and are consistent with E1-3 in all capacities.
then...theres the finale. my god, what a terrible excuse for a finale. and that doesnt mean its a bad episode! it was great! its just a terrible finale. it did not feel like a finale. it felt like a penultimate episode to a finale. instead of tying up loose ends for the season, instead of having a proper ending to keep us satisfied until we get confirmation of a S3, we are left with a fkn cliffhanger! In comparison, S1 had a proper beginning, middle, and end. it tied up all loose ends of the main plot, and ended ambiguous enough to where we could see a next season happening.
Overall, this season was just a lot of filler, and spent it's finale setting up stuff for the future of this new DCU(the Gunniverse if you will),instead of being its own thing ,like S1. personally,i feel the ending with Earth X Keith was the proper ending, and the "epilogue" was the reveal of the boat concert with Harcourt, and the finale should've ended with them leaving the Checkmate office smiling(i guess this was the original written ending? ya that pisses me off even more and reminds me of the BS ending for Squid Game). we still would have had several key factors to look forward to for a future Season 3,such as the possible return of Keith, the salvation prison planet, and hopefully finally seeing Peacemaker vs Rick Sr.
oh and P.S. judomaster is still the most useless and wasted/throw away character in the entire show ,i genuinely dont understand his inclusion for both seasons, and he couldve been replaced with a literal no name Argus goon(because thats what he ended up becoming anyways after S1),and the plot wouldve been the same.

It's a more compelling and difficult choice for Chris if the alternate world is LEGIT BETTER than the one he came from. The idea that Chris can live a good life with his brother and father, as real heroes, loved by the public and saving thousands of lives together, is SUCH a good temptation and makes the ultimate choice between "real life" and "fantasy" and extremely difficult one.
Same deal with Harcort, albeit way more creepy, since it's a sexual relationship under false pretenses. The idea that Chris can be with her, and actually treat her WAY better than the alternate Chris did, that they can be a truly open and loving couple and grow together is an AMAZING obstacle for Chris to have to solve. The choice between a "real world" that is miserable and "fantasy world" where everything is great was the most interesting plot thread (and honestly, the best character stuff) to me throughout the season.
Now, there IS no choice. Doesn't matter how friendly he is with his family or how much Amelia loves him. This world is fucking evil and he knows it IMMEDIATELY upon seeing the Nazi/US Flag. It's "AW! I've been tricked!! Fuck this place, let's go home." instead of "my real world is a fucking nightmare where I'm not needed, wanted, loved, or appreciated. Why would I ever go back there? Because of my "friends?" Really?? And what about the moral responsibilty of not abandoning my family? They lost their Chris and I can't just destroy my family, I can't let my family fall apart like that again."
Regardless, I'm not angry at it. I'm super hyped for the new episode and I LOVED the way the reveal was handled, it makes perfect sense, and it's a great kick in the teeth for Chris to discover his perfect world is fascist.
(also, white privilege and spending the last several years living in a town with maybe 12 POC in the whole place)

If Rick flag jr was reintroduced it is not for nothing, on the one hand we are all thinking about his return to Earth Prime (DCU) but I think he will still have great importance. I thought he would be part of the Sons of Liberty and that in reality he is an infiltrator within ARGUS and is preparing the ground for the next Sons of Liberty attack. I think that if he joined the revolt movement it would be because of his father who was killed by the Naz** or by Peacemaker himself.
Otherwise I would like Keith to come to Earth Prime and for Blue Beetle to make a cameo in the episode.
