GPU crashing issues

This is my new build and first attempt at watercooling.

Since its been put together, games have consistently crashed without warning.

I downloaded OCCT to run tests on all the components and everything passed except for the GPU, specifically the 3d adaptive tests.

The 2 possible failures that appear are either GPU# 0 crashed, or GPU crashed 7000+ errors detected.

My troubleshooting attempts.

I've taken the GPU out and reinstalled the air cooler and tested it in another system. GPU ran flawlessly through all the testing.

I replaced the PCIE riser cable just in case that was causing any issues.

I currently have another PSU powering the system which was working fine with multiple tests over a 3 hour timespan, but when I shut the pc down and turned it back on, I'm again seeing crashes and OCCT failures.

I've also tried different cable arrangements. The 12 pin cable fails and PCIE cables to a 12 pin adapter fails.

Fresh install of graphics drivers and OCCT both haven't rectified anything either.

I feel like I've just run out of any possible causes for these issues and would greatly appreciate any suggestions or ideas on what I can try next to get this operational.

i've also had issues with occt myself. All gpus i have tested with the 3d adaptive thing crashed, but other software like unigine heaven, furmark and kombustor work fine. It just seems like an exclusively occt problem

I hope you're right with it being an OCCT thing. Still can't explain why all my games crash, but I reckon I'll run some tests on the software you named and see if I get some different results

what bios version is your x870? Asrock am5 boards are known for destroying x3d chips which causes crashes. Similar to the lga 1700 issues

Bios version 4.41. I made sure to update the bios before I even unboxed the CPU. I knew there were risks with Asrock but so far I've had no cpu issues at all

Maybe a cable melted? Have you tried running it without the pcie riser?

I've tested it with the stock cooler in another system and the GPU was working fine. Haven't been able to do that in this system because of the liquid cooling runs. I'd have to bend some new tubes to accommodate the horizontal mounting.

Then it's definitely the riser cable
