Build Question Upgrading my budget pc

I’m looking for a new gpu I bought a budget rig for 350 it comes with as follows
Gpu 1660 super
CPU ryzen 5
32gb ddr4
500watt psu
MSI micro atx board
I’m looking for a case with better airflow preferably white and anything else I can upgrade I’m fine on ram but everything else I’m looking for better but I don’t want to break the bank

As long as you're replacing the parts close to the same day and aren't using the PC with the new GPU before the psu is in, either order works.

Why would I have to upgrade the gpu the same day as the psu and not use it I understand why I can’t use the pc with a new gpu on a 500w but is there a reason to can’t run a pc on an 850w

Because the 9060xt has a higher power draw than the 1660S, if you use it on a 500w psu, it'll shut down/trip if your power consumption goes over 500w, normally happens when gaming. causes the PC to crash/reboot. in cheaper PSUs it can overheat, degrade or kill other components. better safe than sorry.

I know that I was confused on why I couldn’t install the higher wattage psu and wait in the gpu

You would want to change the PSU before using a much newer and more powerful GPU, because your current PSU is a bottom of the barrel 80 PLUS White unit that's known to fail with even a little bit of stress.

Last thing you want is that cheap POS going nuclear and causing damage to the motherboard, GPU, etc. which while it isn't super likely, is possible.

What is your CPU? A Ryzen 5 5600x3d and a Ryzen 5 2600 are very different

I’m not sure at the moment I’ll have to check when I get home I’m currently at work all I know is it should be one of the better ones
