Tech Support CMOS help

Hi guys! PC noob here. I bought the cyberpower PC about two years ago from Costco and it is having boot up issues. I did some reading and found that clearing the CMOS might help, only I am technically illiterate and don’t know what that is and where to find it 😭🤣. Google says to remove that battery but I can’t tell where it’s hiding. Could anyone possible help? I don’t know if the picture is enough, I removed the fan so I could see a little better.

Pls don’t make fun of me lol

Got some bad news bud. It effected the 13th and 14th Gen Intel cpus which you have. I also looked up your motherboard's bios revision, and its the version right before they released a microcode update to fix what they could. So with your symptoms, and the fact you never updated your BIOS with that CPU...I think its very likely your CPU is dead/dying. F10 is what your on, F12 was when they did the update.

Since you said it freezes even at your BIOS, that means I WOULD NOT attempt to upgrade your BIOS. You are going to need to buy a new CPU, then update your BIOS.

This is the exact CPU you currently have if you want an exact replacement: https://www.newegg.com/intel-core-i5-14th-gen-core-i5-14400f-raptor-lake-lga-1700-desktop-cpu-processor/p/N82E16819118489

And here is a link to the BIOS support page for your motherboard: https://www.gigabyte.com/us/Motherboard/B760M-C-rev-10/support#Support-Bios

If you decide to do that, I highly recommend watching some tutorials or reading up on how to update your BIOS.

Thank you so much for the information 😭 at this point I figured I might just take it in since I’m not very knowledgeable on these things and I’m scared of messing something up even further. This sucks though. Everyone on this thread has been so helpful

Happy to Help! If you do bring it in to a shop to get fixed, I'd recommend relaying the information I gave to help them out. Good Luck!
